Former Deputy Eddie Duran, charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of Airman Roger Fortson in claimed self-defense, was provided a three-day self-defense immunity hearing in the first week of August—essentially a mini-trial in which the state bears the burden of disproving self-defense by clear and convincing evidence.
On Friday, September 11, Judge William Stone issued a rather shocking 34-page order denying the sought immunity and ordering that Duran continue to trial.
That order is what we’ll be breaking down today—and it’s the same order that compelled Duran’s defense attorneys to immediately file the following Monday a motion to have the judge recuse himself—which was promptly denied--as well as, on Friday, September 18, an interlocutory appeal to seeking a writ of prohibition essentially ordering the trial judge to grant immunity to Duran.
On September 22, just two days ago, the District Court of Appeals has ordered the State to provide their response to these motions by no later than 5 PM today, September 24.
The defense has also requested a stay of the trial proceedings while the DCA considers the merits of the stay of prohibition, given that otherwise jury selection for this trial begins this Monday.

Lawyers for Eddie Duran, the former deputy who shot and killed Airman Roger Fortson while responding to a reported domestic at the Fortson apartment and confronted by Fortson holding a pistol in hand when he opened his door, have been denied an appellate court order for self-defense immunity for their client.
As a result, jury selection in Duran’s manslaughter trial is expected to begin on Monday.
Although the appeal for a writ of prohibition—an order to the trial court to grant immunity—was denied, the argument for that appeal nevertheless does an excellent job of laying out the defense legal arguments and strategy for their client at trial.
As a result, we’ll break down those legal arguments and strategies of that motion in today’s shows.

Yesterday the grand jury empaneled to investigate the death of young black man Nolan Wells and determine whether three young white friends of Well’s should be criminally indicted for that death returned a SCATCHING “no true bill” (no indictment).
Wells’ body was found several days after he participated in a large gathering of boats on a sand bar during a July 4th celebration. Wells had accompanied three white friends (and many others) to the celebration, then become separated from them. Naturally the racial grievance industrial complex immediately started its engines in pursuit of an utterly fabricated narrative of racist murder.
While no final cause of Wells’ death has been determined, and it remains possible that he was the victim of foul play, the grand jury found zero credence to any of the crazy racist theories that had been promulgated by Ben Crump and others of his ilk.
Although neither the three men nor Benjamin Crump are mentioned by name in their report, there is little doubt that the grand jury’s scorn was being directed at General Crump of the Racial Grievance Industrial Complex, and his hangers-on.
Once again, the DEMAND for racism in America VASTLY EXCEEDS the SUPPLY.

Michael Desronvil, the hero juror who prevented the acquittal of first degree murder mommy Lindsay Clancy who strangled her three children to death after sending her husband on an errand, has lawyered up!
And WHAT a lawyer! Desronvil has retained none other than Edward Paltzik.
If you’re not familiar with Paltzik, you soon will be—and you really already should have been. This same lawyer is currently suing both Sunny Hostin and Al Sharpton over their defamation of three young men in the accidental boating death of Nolan Wells—and his letters to each of them are hilarious reading!
Paltzik also wrote an exceptionally compelling amicus brief for the Supreme Court decision of Bruen—the seminal SCOTUS second Amendment decision authored by the great and powerful Justice Clarence Thomas. He’s also been outside counsel for many years to the Second Amendment Foundation, a champion in fighting for our run rights, and an organization in which I’ve personally long been a life member.
It also worth mentioning that he’s previously represented none other than Donald Trump himself—so you know he’s not some loony Leftie.

Two quick stories to cover today! First, it’s being reported that Lindsay Clancy lawyer owes almost $2.5 MILLION dollars in unpaid taxes, dating back YEARS—even as he handles hundreds of criminal cases a year, for which he is richly paid, and despite living in a multi-million dollar home.
Second, a YouTube channel going by the name “Fugitive TV” and run by one Ray Marcel claims to have spoken at length with hold-out juror Michael Desronvil of the infamous Lindsay Clancy mistrial, and yesterday Marcel shared what Desronvil told him-that is, to share HIS SIDE OF THE STORY with the world.
Fair warning: I can’t know with absolute certainty that all this is legit, but I’ve listened to the show, and it has the ring of truth to my ear.
We’ll also take a look at an Op-Ed by one attorney Wendy Murphy, published in the Boston Herald yesterday, that aggressively and stupidly takes a “true-crimes” speculatively critical look at hold-out juror Desronvil, and imagines all kinds of dark forces hard at work to deny Lindsay Clancy the favorable plea agreement that Murphy believes this murderer of her three small children deserves.

Massachusetts Attorney Kevin Reddington is currently living la vida viral because of his defense of Lindsay Clancy, the woman charged with first-degree murder for the strangulation killings of her three small children, a case that recently ended in a 11-1 mistrial leaning to acquittal on the grounds of insanity.
Reddington is also currently a target of a multi-count complaint filed with the Board of Bar Overseers—the Massachusetts Bar that governs lawyer conduct.
Less well known, however, is that Reddington has a long history of representing women’s clients and defending them against criminal charges on the grounds that they were, in one way or another, mentally unsound.
One of these cases early in his career involved a woman who killed her boyfriend in his sleep by driving knives into his eyes.
Another involved the long-term girlfriend of infamous Boston gangster Whitey Bulger.

Another interview by a female jury from the Lindsay Clancy mistrial, and another exposure of how the majority of this jury engaged in grotesque misconduct in voting to acquit Clancy for the intentional strangulation murder of her three small children on the grounds that she was legally insane.
Juror Paula Devlin is back before the media, and in a brief four minutes of interview public released she makes a staggering number of disclosures, mostly unintentionally.
From discussing how the largely female jury often simply over-talked each other during deliberations, to how she struggled with her own mental health issues during the trial, to her describing how her vote to acquit on grounds of insanity was really an effort to help all women generally rather than limited to the facts and law of this case, Devlin further undermines any public confidence in this jury in particular and, some would argue, a large fraction of women generally.
