Welcome to Rock Harbor Church. In today's message, Pastor Brandon launches a deep new series through the Gospel of Matthew — but with a powerful difference: this journey is through a Jewish lens, uncovering rich layers often missed by Gentile readers.
In this first session, "The Genealogy of the Messiah," Pastor Brandon shows how Matthew intentionally presents Jesus as the promised, Davidic Shepherd-King, using Jewish customs, Old Testament prophecy, and even subtle numeric clues like the significance of the number 14. Learn why understanding the Jewish background is vital to grasping the full beauty of the Gospel — and how Matthew reveals Jesus’ rightful claim as the Messiah through His genealogy.
You’ll discover:
Why the genealogy matters and how it proved Jesus' rightful claim as Messiah
How Matthew answers deep Jewish questions about the kingdom, the Messiah’s mission, and Israel’s rejection
The amazing inclusion of Gentiles and broken people in the Messiah’s lineage — and what that means for us today
How Jesus fulfills the covenant promises made to Abraham and David
Why God uses broken vessels — like you and me — for His glorious purposes
No matter your past, God can use your life.
Be encouraged to step forward, live boldly for His kingdom, and proclaim His truth in these critical times.
