Hey everyone, Jackson here with a quick little update: we've had to push this week's Amory Score to next week. I've been very busy with deadlines at school, Molly's very busy with work, and the only times we were both free to record were in the early hours of the morning, so we thought it better to record a much more awake and well-made episode next week.
I really am sorry about this! I know it's the best decision for the show in the long run but I still feel really awful about this, so to tide you over I've talked a little bit about one of the demo songs we skipped: Elf Tower New Mexico. Released only in an enhanced edition years later, this song dares to ask the question: what would a song sound like if it wasn't good enough to make the cut?

It is June 8th and the world is a very stressful place, but that isn't going to stop the latest installment of your favourite Coheed and Cambria podcast: The Amory Score!

When last we left our heroes, they had murdered their children and, following this, were immediately captured by the villains. This time, they're about to realise that they maybe shouldn't have believed the villains when they said "hey, kill your kids for us," and they get a little angry about it.

The Amory Score #2: Devil in Jersey City May 25, 2017

Hello and welcome to the number one Coheed and Cambria podcast on iTunes! I checked, and shockingly there aren't any others, so it's us or bust, baby.

This week we're talking about the second song, Devil in Jersey City, which means there's a strong content warning on this episode for discussion of rape, sexual assault and violence against women. This song contains some of the worst tendencies of the bands early-era edgelord misogyny, and we talk about it head on.

I think there's good discussion here about the way misogyny can evolve into more 'respectable' forms and the weird cognitive dissonance that can come from revisiting something you loved as a teenager, but if you want to skip this one due to the subject matter, I totally understand

Welcome friends, one and all, to the launch of The Amory Score, where we begin our journey track by track through the terribly ridiculous and ridiculously terrible story of Coheed and CambrIa's sci fi epic: The Amory Wars. This week, we're listening to Time Consumer, the opening song from 2001's Second Stage Turbine Blade, wherein we are introduced to our heroes as they murder their own children, for reasons explained only by backstory we are never given.

The Amory Score: Episode Zero May 13, 2017

Hello everyone! Today we're launching a new podcast: The Amory Score, a journey through the ridiculous music and story of everyone's favourite mid-00s concept band, Coheed and Cambria. If you have no idea who Coheed and Cambria are, then don't worry, we've got a primer episode here to give you the context you need before blasting off into the main thrust of the cast next week.

If you don't even have time to listen, then never fear, here is the opening of their Wikipedia page:

“Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band from Nyack, New York, formed in 1995. The band consists of Claudio Sanchez (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards), Travis Stever (lead guitar, backing vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards), and Zach Cooper (bass) The group's music incorporates aspects of progressive rock, pop, heavy metal, and post-hardcore.
