IT’S THE AMANDA SEALES SHOW! I’M AMANDA SEALES… AND NOW IT’S TIME FOR SOME BLACKURATE NEWS. STORY 1: The U.S. State Department issued a Level 3 travel advisory for Jamaica, urging Americans to exercise “increased caution” due to an increase in violent crimes. According to the text, incidents such as home invasions, armed robberies, sexual assaults, and homicide are common in the country and sexual assaults are frequent, including at all-inclusive resorts. News Nation travel editor Peter Greenberg said “The good news is, in most cases, these crimes are not crimes committed or targeted at travelers or tourists. They’re gang versus gang crimes, much like we’ve seen in Mexico over the last 15 years. And the same applies to Jamaica.” Gotta be careful with ANY messaging coming from the U.S. What should be the travel advisories for people coming to America ? Be careful existing while Black.. Or gay… or non-Christian. DC and the Bay Don’t leave anything on your seats in Atlanta. Actually, if you can take the seat out of your car, do it. American tourism has really ravaged our caribbean countries Jamaica’s can’t even use the beach. Hawaiians don't want us there Just ‘cause we’re in the diaspora doesn't mean you won’t get jacked. Travel SMART.

(21:48) - A MOMENT IN BLACK HOOD HISTORY
It is Black History Month, but in this segment, we’re taking a different approach than repeating the same BHM talking points. This is your “MOMENTS IN BLACK HOOD HISTORY,” a tribute to little known historical facts that originated in the HOOD. Kool Aid was invented by a white man in 1927, but it was the Black community that transformed Kool Aid FLAVORS into COLORS. It was a summer day in the South. The Black mother standing inside the kitchen with a squeaky screen door, said to her Black child, “Go make me some Kool aid, to which the child replied, what kind?” Black mother said– RED Koolaid, and the rest is history. The child instantly knew his mother’s desires. The words “cherry or strawberry” Kool Aid haven't been uttered since. Thanks to Black people for the popularization of Kool Aid flavors!

(23:49) - BIG UP, LET DOWN
IT’S THE AMANDA SEALES SHOW! I’M AMANDA SEALES… AND NOW IT’S TIME FOR!... THE BIG UP, LET DOWN. BIG UP -to food reviewer Keith Lee for defying the “black people don’t tip” stereotype. · Keith visited the Sweetly Seasoned food truck in Dallas. He told the owner to charge his card for $4,000. He decided to bless the owner, her son, and two individuals doing hair outside the truck He expressed that $1K should go to a barber, another $1K to a woman doing braids, and the rest to Kim Viverette (owner) and her son to help their business. BIG UP TO KEITH for leading by example and tipping, ‘cause some of us HATE TIPPING and will find any reason not to. Will order up the whole menu, Hennessey Mimosas, seafood towers, but get “cheap” when it’s time to tip. Update: the owner has apologized as she did not honor Lee’s request and instead kept the entire $4K LET DOWN - JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE FOR IMMATURELY AND EMBARRASSINGLY LIVING UP TO HIS OWN SONG TITLE “SELFISH” Justin Timberlake told a New York City audience he’d “like to take this opportunity to apologize — to absolutely f---ing nobody,” just days after Britney Spears said she was sorry about comments in her book It was a profane non-apology to an Irving Plaza crowd right before he sang the 2013 hit "Holy Grail," a Jay-Z track he is featured on. THIS WAS A SELFISH, SELF-CENTERED MOVE, BECAUSE YOU AIN’T JAY-Z, JUSTIN! I CAN THINK OF A FEW PEOPLE YOU NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO! Britney Spears Janet Jackson Michael Jackson

    (32:59) - POP CULTURE
This clip on the internet caught my attention and dissension. Listen to what NBA player, MICHAEL PORTER JR. had to say about light-skinned brothers TO some darker-skinned brothers on the PIVOT podcast. Yep. Here’s what Van Lathan had to say in response. AND HERE’S WHAT I HAVE TO SAY. ACTUALLY, I HAVE A THEORY ABOUT THIS. Amanda: Yup I been talking bout this. All these shows and commercials it's always a biracial couple. Yt men who perpetuate yt supremacy have never truly cared about their women other than for power purposes so it would come as no surprise that they would consciously present images of yt women with black men as a method of dismantling the black family, black identity, and obtaining opps to further their yt supremacist agenda. Clarence Thomas Ben Carson Tim Scott

HOW BLACK DO YOU FEEL TODAY?! AMANDA TJ SUPREME

OR OBVIOUS WAY In a Sentence: Jay-Z was slick emoting about Beyonce never winning a GRAMMY for Album of the year. Dudes know they be EMOTING on these podcasts! But in a relationship… nothing.

(46:45) - POLITICIANS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS

    • Lawmakers in Madison, Wisconsin, recently debated whether state colleges and universities should be barred from considering race or gender when determining if a student is eligible for aid (affirmative action).
    • Under the Republican bill, admission into programs, and tuition assistance that's aimed at disadvantaged students, could only consider the wealth of the student and their family.
    • Sen. Eric Wimberger, Republican of Green Bay, Wisconsin, one of the bill's co-authors, said he acknowledged the lingering effects of racism, but he maintained race-based programs and assistance in higher education would enable bad actors more than it'd help underserved people.

    (7:47) - POP CULTURE

This story is the essence of “they should’ve never gave y’all social media.” Tyrese, who we all respect for his voice and talents… stay Tyresing. He posted a video of a Latino family doing family-oriented things, and in his caption demeaned and berated the entire BLACK race.

    (12:43) - 60 SECOND HEADLINES

Tanya Chutkan, the federal judge overseeing Donald Trump's 2020 election interference case, is postponing the trial until his appeals play out on the question of whether presidential immunity protects him from being prosecuted.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has acknowledged her personal relationship with Nathan Wade… the lead prosecutor on the Trump case, but says it doesn’t disqualify her.

Welcome Home Franklin! A new ‘Peanuts’ special will finally let Franklin, the first Black Peanut character, sit by White friends (Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patty, Linus, Pig Pen and the gang).

Killer Mike's Grammys night came to an early end last night... because he was led out of the event in handcuffs -- after an alleged physical altercation with a security guard.

IT’S THE AMANDA SEALES SHOW… I’M AMANDA SEALES… AND IT’S TIME FOR BLACKURATE NEWS. Welcome Attorney Gerald Griggs back to the show. He’s an Advocate, Activist, and Justice Fighter. He’s here with us today with an update on the Ahmaud Arbury case… and the 3 white men that were convicted of killing him. Before we jump in, give us a brief overview of this case for those who may not remember.

    (24:05) - ATTORNEY GERALD GRIGGS – Part 2

(28:39) - BIG UP, LET DOWN

BIG UP - to an almost bride-to-be in California for her generosity and foresight!! An anonymous woman in California learned “something” (hmmm) about her fiancé’ and decided to call their wedding off. BUT she’d already paid a $15k non-refundable fee for the wedding reception. Double BIG up: she donated the reception party to a non-profit called Parents Helping Parents which provides community support to parents with children who have special needs. AND she and her almost-husband didn’t waste anybody’s time or money by getting married into a chaotic situation. Some people would’ve been like, “Oh we finna have this reception, so we don’t waste money!”

LET DOWN - to piss poor journalism and cultural appropriation during Black History Month. Superbowl-bound Chiefs player Travis Kelce has made the news recently for popularizing the FADE haircut, y’all! Yes, the hairstyle Black men have been rocking since the Black ICE ages. New York Times’ Alyson Krueger titled an article, “They’ll Take the Travis Kelce — Hairdo, That Is.” Apparently a lot of men are taking to their local barbershops and asking for a haircut similar to Kelce’s. The article cites a TikTok video from barber Jeff Dugas saying that his brother came in with photos of Kelce for reference. It also cites a different TikTok video from barber Nigel Miller, who said his client was going for “that Travis Kelce look.” WHAT ARE WE DOING?! This is just bad journalism and poor research! White folks gone find a way to take the credit for Black swag one way or another. On the football field, behind a typewriter, in the newsroom…

    (37:23) - BLACKURATE NEWS

    • America is not a racist country they say! Well why was the statue of the first Major League baseball player, Jackie Robinson, cut off at the ankles and burned in Wichita, Kansas? You heard me! Someone(s) cut the statue off at the ankles, stole it and it was later found burned in a public trash container. Thanks to a GoFundMe campaign, at least $175,000 has been received to fund the replacement. Other facts The Jackie Robinson statue, which officials valued at $75,000, was designed by the late artist John Parsons. Lutz previously said the new statue will be created from an existing mold of Parsons’ original work. Money that is raised beyond the cost of the statue’s replacement will go toward supporting the league and improvements at the pavilion where the statue is displayed, including additional security, according to League 42.

Certainly! Here are the reformatted timestamps for the provided copy:

    (3:01) - blackurate news

It’s the Amanda Seales show, i’m Amanda Seales.. And it’s time for blackurate news…

We extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the three black american soldiers killed in a drone attack in jordan last weekend. They were killed in their housing units at an american military outpost in a country that is strategically located in a region beset by military conflict, including iran, which is believed to be the source of the fatal drone attack. The dominance of black americans in military service makes them most likely to be put in harm’s way on behalf of the nation. Soldiers are often offered large signing bonuses (especially for potentially hazardous military jobs), but don’t know what they’re signing up for. They’re deployed and either become casualties, or return and suffer from ptsd and suicidal thoughts. Recruiters go to the hood to manipulate and exploit the impoverished or less fortunate.

We don’t get the ‘grandpa,’ yeah, that’s a little deep. Pop-pop is where we’re going.”

Now it’s time for 60 second headlines.

Story 1: president biden is reportedly eager to secure an endorsement from taylor swift for his 2024 re-election campaign… his camp seemingly believes her massive impact will positively influence votes.

Story 2: ludacris has teamed up with bet to create a 30 minute dramedy series that is based on his life, highlighting the competitive music scene in atlanta as radio.

Story 3: the three white men convicted of a federal hate crime for killing ahmaud arbery in 2020 will have their appeals heard by a federal court in march.

Story 4: megan thee stallion has officially announced that will be dropping her 3rd studio album this summer, along with her hot girl summer tour 2024.

Word on the street is it feels fly too. Carlton mackey the creator of black men smile®, said, “we believe that black joy is revolutionary because of all that it must resist and the ways it must persist in order to simply exist.”

Let down - to the white lady who went to that same target and was so disturbed by black joy that she tweeted about it. · in response to a black little girl smiling on a poster in her black joy outfit, @ deb_ fillman’s tweet said: o target is

insufferable. Had to do a return and can’t wait to leave. Ma’am. How the f is a black girl’s smile insufferable?! That you are free to display your racism on a platform run by a racist (musk) is insufferable what would you rather see? A poster of a black family frowning and struggling? Who knew black joy got karens’ drawls in a bunch?

I’m in a situation with one of my besties and… i’ve known her for years… we went to high school and college together… we’ve been there for each other through the good and the bad… she’s like a sister to me… but…. She has a boyfriend and i hate the way he treats her. He talks to her crazy… he’s really mentally abusive… and she doesnt see it… she also recently gained a little wieight and he often times has pretty much body shamed her… i wouldnt be surprised if hits her… when i talked to her about it she makes excuses for him and says things like he’s just playing. I don’t like the person she is becoming while dating him… it’s like she’s no longer the friend i grew up with… i told her that i was going to talk to her family namely her brother or father about her man, and how he treats her… i really think she needs help.

But she says if i tell anyone our friendship is over.. Because she loves him, and she’s probably going to stay with him. She says even though we’re friends i need to mind my business…
