It’s the Amanda Seales Show… I’m Amanda Seales… And now it’s time for 60 Second Headlines….
Story 1: Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a controversial bill into law that critics say would make it “more difficult” for people to vote. Senate Bill (SB) 189 means in part that people without a permanent address will need to re-register to vote… Challenges to those voter registrations will be easier to initiate… And this bill also requires counties to tally all absentee ballots within an hour of polls closing
Story 2: Snoop Dogg is spearheading a docu-series for E! Entertainment centered around the life of his daughter, Cori Broadus. The untitled series will follow 24-year-old Cori Broadus and her fiancé, Wayne Deuce, 31, as they navigate life leading up to their wedding day. Additionally, the docu-series will showcase the entire Broadus family as they rally behind Cori in her ongoing battle with health issues.
Story 3: Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is repurposing the Bay State Correctional Center, a decommissioned prison, into a temporary safety net shelter for families facing homelessness. The facility, which has been in good condition since its closure in 2015, will feature play areas for children, and classroom spaces for adults to participate in activities aimed at fostering stability. It is expected to be operational by next month.
Story 4: Congratulations to 96-year-old Opal Lee, also known as the Grandmother of Juneteenth… She was recently honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom… And just last week, she also received an honorary doctorate's degree from Southern Methodist University.

Big Up - Goes to great security
A recent concert in Georgia turned into a disappearing act. Tyrese was in the middle of belting out his hit song "Why You Wanna Act Like That" when a security guard walked over and warned him that there was a process server at the show. Without skipping a beat, Tyrese bolted stage right, mid-song. He managed to yell out a quick “I love you guys!” but all the audience saw was ass and elbows. In the words of J B Smooth, ain't nothing faster than poooom!
Let Down - Bad recruiting tactics
The Miami Beach Police Department proudly introduced their latest recruitment tactic: a $250,000 Rolls-Royce patrol car. Because, you know, nothing says "protect and serve" like luxury wheels. Forget about offering competitive wages or ensuring psychological stability—let's just flash some bling and hope people sign up to play cops and robbers.
