Every year since at least 1981 a strange, cryptic “ad” can be found inside the pages of “The Daily Wildcat” - the University of Arizona’s student newspaper.

On May 1st, 1981 a seemingly simple, and mysterious photo - a combination of English letters and Chinese symbols was published.
The picture itself could have easily been overlooked or perhaps even ignored, and if that had been the only one of its kind...we’d wager it would have been.

But, that’s not what happened.

Every year since, on May 1st, a new ad can be found...more complex...more intricate...more mysterious...more strange, and thus The May Day Mystery was born.
Who is spending the money to have these ads published?
What does each strange mix of symbols, geographical coordinates, pictures, equations, quotes, and phrases mean?
What is that strange smiley face that is seemingly scribbled on each?
Who is “THE ORPHANAGE” - the group or individual who claim to be behind it all?

You’ll have to listen to hear what Woody Brown and Tyler Bence have found out about this super rad pre-internet mystery.

S1 E33: The Ewok Adventure Apr 19, 2021

It all started with an exciting purchase on eBay of an old obscure (and hard to find) '80s movie VHS... Then a few days after it arrives Woody's brother shoots him a text that says "Hey man, have you checked this out on Disney+ yet??" followed by a picture of THE STAR WARS VINTAGE COLLECTION. Much to Woody's surprise Disney+ had made some of their hardest, obscure Star Wars content available to stream. This week we're of course talking about The Ewok Adventure ... a movie that both Tyler and Woody haven't seen, in at the very least, 30 years. We will take you on a journey of nostalgia as we take a deep dive into The Ewok Adventure (and why perhaps the sequel "Battle for Endor" is another example of the Mandela Effect). We go over some really interesting trivia and behind-the-scenes info on the movie, talk about why this Star Wars Vintage Collection was an excellent find, and, how it SAVED SPRING BREAK.

It's official - spring is here! Despite the allergies that come along with it, we're excited about the warmer weather and spending more time outdoors.
This week we have something special we put together we know our OG listeners and brand new listeners will enjoy.
One of our favorite segments we do on our show is called "Tales from the Time Capsule" which is where we present a fascinating story complete with captivating sound design, that will make you feel like you're right there in the thick of whatever drama is unfolding.

This week Tyler FINALLY pulls off being able to completely surprise Woody with a story without even so much as the slightest hint.
Not only is this a miracle in and of itself (because of how TERRIBLE Tyler is typically with spoilers) but, turns out it's a pretty fascinating story that Woody (a HUGE Beatles fan) has never heard about...
We dive into the unknown, never-before-released Beatles album EVERYDAY CHEMISTRY - well, at least never-before-released in our dimension.
We'll go into the origins of this strange record, how it was "discovered" by a man that goes by JAMES RICHARDS, and the interdimensional traveling man named JONAS who allegedly comes from a dimension where The Beatles never broke up + are still touring regularly.

Before we get into this strange tale together - Woody and Tyler go over what they thought about the Snyder Cut of the Justice League.

A second Civil War splinters America into five factions, leaving the new capital based in Omaha.

World War III breaks out in 2015, starting with Russia and the U.S. trading nukes and ending with three billion dead.
Then, to top it all off, a computer bug delivers where Y2K sputtered, destroying our world as we know it.

S1 E27: The Stanford Abduction Episode Mar 08, 2021

In January 1976 three Kentucky women, after a celebratory birthday dinner at one of their favorite restaurants, experienced something strange, terrifying, and incredibly intriguing.
On the ride home is when their enjoyable girl's night out took a frightening turn.
A large object the size of a football field appeared across both lanes of the road in front of them, disappeared and then re-appearing behind them seemingly took control of the ‘67 Chevy Nova they were driving.
Despite their attempts to regain control of the car, it reached speeds over 80mph, the dark night’s landscape flying by their window...and then…
- POOF -
The next thing they knew they were on the outskirts of a small Kentucky town with little to no memory of the 8 miles they had covered to get there -or- the 90 minutes that had surprisingly past.
This is their story, of all that happened during those lost 90 minutes and what is one of the most terrifying abduction stories WOODY and TYLER have ever heard.
