    Matthew McConaughey is an Academy Award-winning actor, producer, author, and professor of film, known for his captivating leading roles and versatility. He has appeared in more than 40 feature films, beginning with his breakout role in Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused, that have grossed over $1 billion. While he is most popular for his roles in films including Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar, Free State of Jones, and the HBO television series True Detective, McConaughey is also the author of Greenlights, his life-changing, #1 New York Times Bestselling memoir that provides an intimate look at his life, career, and personal philosophies. The book has inspired millions of readers through the actor’s unflinching honesty, unconventional wisdom, and lessons learned the hard way about living with greater satisfaction–and it’s now available in paperback and with exclusive new content. Beyond writing and film, McConaughey, alongside his wife, Camila, founded the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation, a nonprofit organization that empowers high school students to make healthy choices by implementing after school fitness programs across 19 cities in the United States.

    David Whyte is a prolific Irish poet, philosopher, and speaker whose work that spans nearly four decades has resonated with audiences around the world. Beginning his career in 1986, Whyte has published three books of prose and ten volumes of poetry, including Still Possible and Consolations: The Solace, Nourishment and Underlying Meaning of Everyday Words. Through his Three Sundays Series, he creates immersive experiences for his audience that invite reflection on the complexities of human existence in 75-minute online sessions. His latest collection, Consolations II, continues his exploration of language and the choices that shape our daily lives.


    This month, Whyte is commencing the Consolations II England & Scotland Book Tour, which will move through Edinburgh, London, Oxford and Brighton. In January, he will speak daily at the Wisdom & Wellbeing Week 1 Intensive in Nosara, Costa Rica, alongside Henry Shukman, Leslie Salmon Jones, and Jeff W.     Killer Mike Oct 30, 2024

    Killer Mike is an Atlanta-born rapper and actor. His music career began in 2003, with his solo debut, with the album Monster, reaching the Billboard Top Ten, and later gaining global recognition as part of the hip-hop duo Run the Jewels alongside El-P. Since the start of his career, Killer Mike has released seven studio albums, including Michael, for which he won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2024. Outside of music, he has established a career in television as the host of Netflix’s Trigger Warning with Killer Mike and PBS’s Love & Respect with Killer Mike and as an actor in shows including Billions, Dave, and Ozark. Building on the success and the impact he’s made in hip-hop and culture, Killer Mike is teaming up with Dave Chappelle on their tour, Still Talkin’ That Sh*t, blending music and comedy starting on November 15th.


    On November 22nd, Killer Mike is also releasing his latest ten-song project, Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival: Songs For Sinners & Saints.     Joaquin Phoenix is widely regarded as one of the best actors of his generation, known for his intense and eccentric on-screen portrayals in period dramas, thrillers, and psychological films. He was raised among siblings who were largely involved in acting, including his late brother, River Phoenix, alongside whom he began his acting career in the 1980s. He made his big-screen debut in SpaceCamp (1986), and he earned his first starring role in the Cold War drama Russkies (1987). Phoenix is known for his commitment to embody each of his roles, particularly in his role as Arthur Fleck in Todd Phillips’ Joker, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. His filmography includes powerful performances in Gladiator, Her, You Were Never Really Here, Walk the Line–where he won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Johnny Cash–and most recently, Joker: Folie à Deux. In addition to his acting career, Phoenix is an animal rights activist and has taken up producing films like Gunda, and he continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of cinema.

Graduating from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, and later receiving his PhD in economics from Harvard University, he has developed a vested interest in the economics of culture, as he delves into topics including fame, art, and cultural trade in his 19 books. Alongside economist Alex Tabbarock, Cowen is passionate about making world-class economics education accessible through his online platform, Marginal Revolution University.
