    Houchin Community Blood Bank's Yessica Diaz-Conti (HCBB.com) joined the TehachaPod crew to talk about the importance of donating blood during the COVID-19 Crisis. We also cover platelet and plasma donations and why there is a need in our community. The most recent Tehachapi City council meeting is also talked about, plus upcoming events and episode topics.

    Tehachapi small businesses move a little closer to opening May 28, 2020

    Tehachapi businesswoman Barb Villasenor joins the TehachaPod crew for a discussion about what the COVID-19 shutdown has meant to her an independent contractor and when she hopes to get back to work.

    As local salons and barber shops are allowed to open, not all aspects of those businesses can start up again.

    Supervisor Scrivner talks about the Kern County Back to Business Ad-Hoc Committee he is part of and the work they are doing. He discusses the $25 million Kern Small Business Relief Program and who can benefit from applying. We also ask about working with the State of California through this process.

    Opening the Tehachapi Farmer's Market May 11, 2020

    We went out onto the streets of Tehachapi to talk to people who attended the first Farmer's Market since the coronavirus started. People were relieved to be outside and shop in an open air market setting. Social distancing and a scaled back version of the market were put into place. Many felt this was a sense of freedom and ready to get back to a more normal feeling of living. We interviewed numerous people and listen to what they had to say.
