A great resource that explains the matrix that Ana Sheila described can be found here: https://todoist.com/productivity-methods/eisenhower-matrix

Next, we revisit our conversation with journalist Alicia Menendez discussing her book, “The Likeability Trap: How to Break Free and Succeed as You Are.” Alicia Menendez is an MSNBC anchor, she’s a contributing editor at Bustle, and the host of the Latina to Latina podcast. Alicia spoke to us earlier during an event we hosted to mark Women’s History Month and to explore some of the barriers that women continue to face like racial and gender bias, and in many cases, homophobia.

Our event with Alicia is an example of the conversations we host completely free.If you want to support our work, please consider a contribution to help us kee bringing you these great conversations: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/tamarindopodcast1

Note: We mention the greatest gymnast of all time, Simone Biles, who at the time of the recording had withdrawn from some of her competitions in Tokyo2020. However, after the recording of this episode, she did compete in the Women’s Balance Beam earning a Bronze medal. We celebrate and honor her decision to value her mental health and well-being and for being a role model for us all.

Environmental racism is real. On this episode of Tamarindo, we talk to environmental justice lawyer Claire Woods about how Black and Brown communities face the brunt of many environmental justice issues, the connection to racism, and what we can do to help. During the episode she mentions a few organizations we can follow to get more informed and involved with environmental justice issues including East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice, and Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice.

Claire Woods is the Senior Attorney and Director of Environmental Justice Policies and Programs at Greenfield environmental. Previously, as a senior attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council, Claire led litigation and advocacy efforts to secure safe drinking water, curb air emissions, protect species, and maintain critical environmental protections for communities. We reference this think piece that does an excellent job of recapping the Flamin’ Hot Cheetoh’s controversy over the creator of the loved snack. Note, that since we recorded, this is the latest on the Flamin' Hot saga. We also suggest Brenda’s piece on Hip Latina about the upcoming Black-ish spinoff, Brown-ish.
