Episode 96 - Go-Bots (Part 1) Oct 04, 2020

Show notes

Sure, everyone loves Transformers, but what about those OTHER shape-shifting robots that came out a year earlier? The GoBots don't get much love because they're smaller, simpler, and cheaper. But that's precisely why Jeff LOVES them. Can he convince Taylor by the end of the show? Listen and find out. We're only covering the first 25 figures in the line this time, we'll be back later to discuss the rest!

Talking Toys: Action Figure Exclusive #140 - Karatti Sep 13, 2020

Show notes

You know how in the '80s companies would shoehorn fads into a toy line and make it kind of tangentially related? Yeah, that's kinda what happened here. But that doesn't mean the toy isn't cool! Listen to the guys try to figure out what's going on with this character's unibrow!

Episode 95 - Filmation's Ghostbusters Sep 06, 2020

Show notes

Yeah, we were just as confused as you back in the '80s when we heard the term "Ghostbusters toys" and looked up to see....this. You'll have to listen to find out the backstory of this line but you know what? For a knockoff cash-grab, it's actually a pretty solid line!

Episode 95 - Sun-Man (and Taylor's Crusade) Aug 02, 2020

Show notes

Diversity is not a bad thing. Period. This month, the guys talk about a small line from the mid-80s that was born out of a mother's desire to give her son toys that looked like him and his friends. It was a terrific toy line, but very short-lived. Taylor has suggested that Mattel might take a page out of this toy line for their new Masters Of The Universe Origins line, and Jeff thinks it's a good idea! Listen and and find out just how cool these figures were, and why the guys think they deserve another look

Talking Toys: Action Figure Exclusive #137 - Klaatu (Skiff Guard) Jul 26, 2020

Show notes

No, it's not a repeat. Kenner didn't even reuse the head sculpt! We get an entirely NEW KLAATU (which sounds somewhat like a band, right?) Now, that's not to say this is a great figure. Or is it? Listen and find out!
