Tonya Bailey Jones: Godly Obedience Leads to Unexpected Calls

“There are people even now who struggle with the reality of, I'm not moving because I don't feel like I deserve to be given that.” ~Tonya Bailey

If you have ever felt this way, then you will enjoy today’s guest, Tonya Bailey, as she shares how her leap after retiring from the military allowed her to be a beacon of hope for her family and other women in ways she could have never imagined.

    Tonya’s Bio:

Tonya Bailey Jones is a wife, mother, grand-mother, coach and transformational speaker. She is a retired Naval Officer with numerous awards and commendations. She graduated from University of Maryland-Baltimore with her bachelor's degree in Nursing and from Liberty University with her master's degree in Nursing education. With all these accolades and a successful career, you would think life was bliss for Tonya. However, it was anything but.

Tonya's professional success was birthed through decades of darkness, depression and despair and shrouded in shame and regret. When God gave Tonya the vision of speaking on stages, she

was excited and ready with thoughts of motivating women to rise to success from meager beginnings. However, that was not the assignment God had for her.

Through years of trepidation, apprehension and lots of self-discovery, Tonya is elated to now say she took the leap and is walking in God's calling for her life and moving at the pace of grace with God by her side.

As the creator and host of "Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast with Tonya B. Jones", she is reaching women throughout the world with the love of God. Known as "the lady with the soothing, compassionate voice who makes you want to lean in and chat," Tonya encourages women of faith to live beyond the guilt, shame and regret of their past choices and live in the fullness of who God created them to be.

In Loving Memory of Scott Boaman: Navigating A Life Interruption

What does it look like to obey God’s call to leap when everything in your world is interrupted by the cares of this world?

Our guest today will share how he drew closer to God during one of the most challenging seasons of his life and how his leap led him right where he needed to be.

On Saturday April, 29, 2023 Scott passed away from medical complications during his treatment. It is with his wife's permission that I share this podcast episode with you. Scott's legacy of having hope amid despair has left a beautiful imprint on my heart. He was known for his precious words ,"God's got this" and "God is in control." And his family declares that God still is.

Let's flood his Instagram page with words of encouragement for the family and please share how through this episode you learned the power of trusting God as you may be Navigating Life Interruptions.

    Scott’s Bio:

Scott Boaman is an author, motivational speaker, life coach, seasoned business owner, and life-enhancer. He is involved with numerous ministry organizations and, along with his wife, Darlene, is also a pre-marriage facilitator at the church they attend, The Belonging Co.

Over the past twenty-five years, Scott has been involved with various ministry and charity organizations with a desire to serve and bless others while working to create a stable and secure future for his family. All seemed to be going well until he received an unexpected medical diagnosis of Stage 4 lung cancer. Within a matter of days, his future changed drastically, from one of normality to hopelessness and despair. While navigating this mind-altering news, God placed it heavily on his heart to use this life interruption as a vehicle to bless others experiencing various challenges and difficulties.

Through the struggle of navigating this difficult season in his life, Boaman has developed a oneness with God as he had never experienced before. God revealed methods and principles for him to have joy, peace, and comfort during this upheaval of life. Today, he uses his personal experiences to bring hope to the hopeless by moving towards oneness with God. He and his wife live in the Nashville area and have over thirty-seven years of living life together.

Ben Waites: Leaping into Destiny Despite Disabilities and Limitations

What is the one physical or mental limitation that you believe is keeping you from taking the leap?

Our guest today will share how his choice to leap despite his limitations landed him on national television.

    Ben’s Bio:

Ben Waites is a husband and singer who was born with arthrogryposis, and while his body may be bound to a wheelchair, his spirit is soaring through the gift of song. In December of 2010, Ben graduated from Louisiana College with an interdisciplinary concentration of music, communications, and theater arts. Singing has become such a crucial part of Ben’s life and career, but music is not his whole life. Growing up, he had a happy, fulfilling life and supportive family. He says he did everything the other kids did, just with a little help sometimes. Ben chose to sing, but he knows that he will be fine with or without his gifted voice.

    • Supporting your spouse is not a yes or no answer; it’s about looking at how you can make it happen. It’s about Sacrifice.
    • Being on the same page is great, but remember you can be on the same page but in different sections. Work on being in total agreement with one another.
    • The most important thing for couples doing life together is intentional communication; if you’re not intentionally communicating, it will get rough and harder than it has to be.
