SU women suffer worst-ever NCAA defeat to UConn: What are offseason priorities for Coach Jack? Mar 24, 2026

Show notes

Brent Axe reacts live to Syracuse basketball's 98-45 loss to UConn in the NCAA Tournament.

The conversation wasn't so much about SU's worst-ever NCAA tournament loss. Losing to UConn was inevitable. I was more about where Syracuse goes in the offseason and how Coach Felisha Legette-Jack can build on SU's 24-9.

The priority at the top of the list is to ensure Uche Izoje returns to the Syracuse roster and is paid properly through NIL to make sure it happens and to build up the roster around her along with returning talent.

Axe also heard from Syracuse Sports Insiders and what they thought of SU women's basketball's season.

How did Siena's near upset of No. 1 seed Duke in the NCAA Tournament fuel his cause? Which of his assistant coaches and players could Gerry bring with him to Syracuse? Which players on the current Orange roster could he get to stay on in the new administration?

We discussed all that and more with terrific insight from our Syracuse Sports Insiders!

Bryan Hodgson reportedly out on Syracuse job: Where should focus of coaching search turn now? Mar 18, 2026
