Transfer portal updates for UF, Under Armour All America recap Jan 03, 2022

Back from a short holiday break, the Swamp247 staff briefly recaps the Gasparilla Bowl loss to UCF and takes a look at how the roster is shifting with a handful of players entering the NCAA transfer portal and Florida potentially the landing spot for a few others in the portal. Blake Alderman and Thomas Goldkamp discuss the addition of Ohio State transfer Jack Miller at quarterback, as well as a few other transfer portal targets for the Gators.

They also provide the latest coaching staff updates, with activity expected in the near future on that front. Alderman then gives a run-down of everything Florida fans learned at the Under Armour All-America Game week, including the scoop on five-star Florida signee Kamari Wilson. He then previews a pivotal month of recruiting for the Gators in January.

Positions Florida should address in the transfer portal Dec 21, 2021

With the Early Signing Period in the books, Florida will likely shift its focus to the NCAA transfer portal over the next couple weeks. The spring semester begins in January, and the Gators could use a few additions to shore up the roster in certain spots.

Thomas Goldkamp goes through the current scholarship chart to identify where the position needs are for the Gators and whether they should address those needs through the transfer portal or future recruiting. Florida's Early Signing Period was a hugely successful one, with new coach Billy Napier reeling in a handful of his top targets despite having only 10 days to build the first half of the class. The Gators beat out the Georgia Bulldogs for five-star defensive back Kamari Wilson and four-star linebacker Shemar James, while holding off Oklahoma for four-star defensive lineman Chris McClellan.

With the selective approach, the Gators came up big on the prospects they were actually pushing for. We discuss the outlook on the program now heading into the next seven weeks as the recruiting board resets, UF continues to fill out its staff and Napier hones in on his next targets.
