This week Tommy and Adam talk to Mikey about living life with a chronic illness. Health is something many of us take for granted, even when we have our own issues, and Mikey has managed to handle such a huge challenge extraordinarily well. There's a lot to learn from his story—plus, he knows Bubbles the Chimpanzee. :)
Aside from interesting aspect of Mikey's story and the education it can provide, I also want to have him on the show in hopes other listeners may be willing to help him out financially. Due to the hack, I can't do a whole lot on my own and his conditions are very, very expensive. I know Mikey because of this show. It's one of the cool things about podcasting—I get to meet all kinds of awesome people who listen to it. I really like having listeners on the podcasts whenever anyone has an interesting story to share that we can learn from.
But, in this case, Mikey also needs some help and I'm not in a position these days to help as much as I would under better circumstances. I'm hoping that, collectively we might be able to help him out a bit. Richard and I have donated the little that we can. If you have a few dollars you can send his way to help cover the extreme expenses he has to contend with to keep on living please visit the link in the show notes and help him out. We all have our own troubles these days, but most of us can afford a few dollars here and there when it can make a huge difference in someone's life. Nobody's obligated to do anything, but hopefully you'll want to—especially after hearing what Mikey's been through and how extraordinarily well he's handled his circumstances.
