    Sully Baseball

Love baseball? Need a daily fix of talking baseball? Comedian and TV producer Paul Francis Sullivan (call him Sully) posts an original podcast every single day, 365 days a year unless it is a leap year and then he is going to do another one. Throughout the season, playoffs and off season, Sully makes his observations, voices his opinions and brings on guests like former major league players and writers and actors, including Joe Mantegna. Agree with him or not, there is always thoughtful, funny and passionate baseball talk every single day since October 24, 2012. Sully has been a producer on TV shows such as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Ax Men and has appeared on ESPN2 and HBO Sports to talk baseball.

    Ep. 1485 - The Need For A Pair Of Aces In Cleveland - 11 - 16 - 2016 Nov 16, 2016
    Show notes

The Indians haven't won the World Series since 1948. If they had better timing with their aces, they could have won titles in the 1990's and the 2000's. They are close to one in 2017, but maybe they should add a second ace to join Cy Young front runner Corey Kluber.

    Ep. 1484 - Saluting Ryan Howard - 11 - 15 - 2016 Nov 15, 2016
    Show notes

Ryan Howard's time in Philadelphia is done and maybe his career is as well. Why he became a cautionary tale of signing sluggers to long term deals, he also did enough to be given a salute for his accomplishments.

    Ep. 1483 - The Direction Of The 2017 White Sox - 11-14-2016 Nov 14, 2016
    Show notes

There is another team in Chicago besides the champion Cubs. The White Sox are at a cross roads and could contend in 2017 if they choose to.

    Ep. 1482 - SUNDAY REQUEST - Listening To Others And Asking Questions - 11 - 13 - 2016 Nov 13, 2016
    Show notes

SUNDAY REQUEST - Friend of the Podcast @IlliniDodgers had issues with something I said in a previous podcast. I think he was right. Along the way I tried to talk about a 60 second wait time to respond on Twitter and minority manager hirings.

    Ep. 1481 - Justin Verlander And The Tigers Decisions - 11-12-2016 Nov 12, 2016
    Show notes

The Tigers are at a cross roads and it could mean selling Justin Verlander now when his value is skyhigh.

    Ep. 1480 - Thinking about the 5000 Club - 11-11-2016 Nov 11, 2016
    Show notes

Sure the 3,000 hit club is cool, but the 5,000 times on base list might be the best group of offensive players.

    Ep. 1479 - Healing and Constructive Anger Through Baseball - 11-10-2016 Nov 10, 2016
    Show notes

Recorded after the election, I look at distractions, how soon an election takes place after the World Series and how negative feelings expressed through baseball can be constructive.

    Ep. 1478 - Looking At The MLB Awards Ballot On Election Day - 11 - 9-2016 Nov 09, 2016
    Show notes

On Election Night, I avoided politics and talked about the award ballot for MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and Manager of the Year.

Ep. 1477 - Driving Late At Night Thinking Of Temporary Stadiums - 11-8-2016 Nov 08, 2016
    Show notes

While driving late at night in the East Bay, I wondered if maybe the answer to the stadium issue for the A's would be a ballpark that didn't have to stand all season long. It made sense late at night.

    Ep. 1476 - Traditions, Logos and the Cleveland Raiders - 11-7-2016 Nov 07, 2016
    Show notes

The tradition of the Indians name is not as ironclad as you would think. They were almost the Cleveland Raiders, which would have been amazing. Plus I bring up Chief Wahoo again and showed how easy the solution would be for it.
