Ep 252 Stand Your Ground (even when it's not popular) ft. Joel Penton Oct 12, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

The message we are so used to hearing is, “Don’t make this mistake like I did…” or “Listen to me because I messed up big time…” and so on.

But what about the person who stood their ground (even from an early age in school) and can speak from experience about making good decisions and the outcomes of those good decisions?

That regardless of the popularity or consequences tied to them… he was going to do the unpopular thing and to go against his peers.

Our guest today, Joel Penton, is an ordinary man with an extraordinary message that has been shared with over half a million young people all over the country. You don’t need to fit in to stand out. You just need to stand your ground.

And Joel continues to spread his message through a new passion with Lifewise Academy.

“If you’re willing to work hard, willing to never miss a work out, and if you’re willing to do more than everyone else, then you could compete and you could excel.” - Joel Penton

When you think of a pride of lions, what comes to mind?

The lionesses do everything, right!? They do most of the hunting and caring for the cubs. So, what about the lions?

Even though it appears that the male lion is lazy, eats much of the food and does not earn his keep, something else is going on entirely. He is patrolling, marking, and guarding his pride. He is the KING and will defend, protect, and provide for his family.

He will roar and claim his territory. This is what a muscular gentleman is all about.

A provider, protector and someone who will restore order and lead his family. It is not about control, it is more about showing up, stepping up, taking action and leading the way for everyone else to be at their very best. It’s living life strong by design!

Our guest today on SBD, Ruston Webb, is a muscular gentleman and he shares his insights and mission to help other men step into their greatness.

“If you change your language, you will change your life… I don’t think most people are aware of the thoughts we just flood our brain with on a regular basis.” - Ruston Webb

Here’s the truth — illness starts before the symptoms appear. Treating only the symptoms of a disease does not help you recover your health. You need to get to the bottom of what caused your illness to begin your healing journey.

The path of healing helps you discover not only who you are, but enables you to create the life of your dreams. We support this by addressing the emotional and spiritual components of breast cancer, so deep healing can occur.  “There is always a path for healing.” -Dr. Carol Lourie

Dr. Carol Lourie is a Naturopath, Acupuncturist and Homeopath with over 35 years of clinical experience.

She’s helped thousands of women recover their health after a breast cancer diagnosis through her holistic protocols involving nurturing nutrition, targeted supplementation, healthy lifestyle changes, and an empowered mindset. Today on SBD we talk to Carol about her Empowered Against Recurrence program and the 5 steps to breast cancer empowerment.

“The phrase ‘cancer is a metabolic disease’ is connected to your lifestyle and the choices you make about self-care. It is also connected to how you eat and how you nourish your body.” - Dr. Carol Lourie

Ep 244 You ARE what you Eat! ft. Jovanka Ciares Aug 24, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

It may be one of the simplest and most truthful health claims ever… you are what you eat. Especially when it comes to sugar and a poor diet.

Eat doughnuts, French fries, pizza and ice cream on a regular basis and you will look like a walking fast food advertisement. Eat colorful fruits and vegetables, whole fresh foods and high-quality proteins and fats and your body will turn heads at the beach.

Sounds simple yet most of us struggle with sensible nutrition advice and find ourselves enjoying far too many high calorie sugary treats. We are literally addicted to bad food.

Sadly, our culture has made our enjoyment of food a very dangerous activity for decades resulting in food related disease and obesity that’s off the charts!

High sugar, deep fried fat and overly processed foods will transform you into a ticking time bomb but our special guest today on Strong By Design is an integrative herbalist, nutrition educator, author and wellness coach. Discover how Jovanka Ciares is leading the charge on health in the land of abundance with her Get Off Sugar program.

Ep 243 How to Better Lead Yourself ft. Annie Yatch Aug 17, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Where there is no vision, the people perish. —Proverbs 29:18

Whether we realize it or not, we are all leaders. Some of us may be in a position of leading hundreds if not thousands of other people while others just a handful.

But to be truly good as a leader you must first get great at leading one person, yourself.

Leadership begins with the person you see in the mirror every single day and the decisions made and actions taken by that person. Decisions and actions taking us closer to or further from our vision for our lives.

Our guest today on SBD is Annie Yatch, Chief Transformation Officer

and co-founder of Seal Team Leaders. Annie and her team focus their training on communication, feedback systems, and accountability processes that create the most sustainable fulfillment and success for all.

In the words of the amazing Craig Groeschel, “Everyone wins when the leader gets better.”

“Our biggest pain and trauma are actually the source of your greatest lesson and your greatest calling. Once you identify what this trauma is and do some work on it, you can step more into the calling or the reason why you are here."
