"The Grateful Red" as Bill Walton is known in some circles, is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and as he will tell you, is "the luckiest guy on the planet".
A 3-time National College Player of the Year with UCLA, Bill Walton was also a 2-time NBA Champion, a 2-time NBA All-Star, an MVP and an NBA Finals MVP during an injury riddled 13-year career with the Portland Trailblazers, the San Diego/LA Clippers and the Boston Celtics.
In this podcast Bill Walton opens up to Dick Stockton about all phases of his life, from his UCLA playing days under famed coach John Wooden, with whom he developed a life-long friendship, to his professional career including a time when, crippled with severe back pain, he once considered suicide.
Now a successful broadcaster, Bill Walton is also a long-standing fan of The Grateful Dead as he talks about in his 2016 memoir titled: "Back from the Dead: Searching for the Sound, Shining the Light and Throwing It Down".
