In our final Cocodona 250 post-race interview, we chat with thru-hiker and 16-time FKT holder, Jeff Garmire. Prior to Cocodona, Jeff's longest race was a 50K, but his multi-day efforts on long trails seemed to give him a huge advantage for the epic race from Black Canyon City to Flagstaff. Jeff talks to us about his hallucinations, his mindset during long days in the mountains, and explains the backstory of his tiger-themed clothing. Follow Jeff's journey @thefreeoutside on Instagram, and explore more of his amazing adventures in his book, "Free Outside."

    Cocodona Post-Race Interview | Stefan Fiandeiro a.k.a. "Stefan Claus" May 24, 2021
    Show notes

Today's Cocodona post-race conversation is with Stefan Fiandeiro. At just 20 years old, the Bay Area runner was the youngest person to toe the line at the inaugural Cocodona 250. He was also the only runner to tackle the entire race while wearing a Santa hat through the sweltering days and cold nights. This earned him the nickname "Santa Hat Kid" from our livestream viewers, but he quickly evolved into "Stefan Claus" as we got to know him throughout the race when we checked in with him and his crew on the livestream. Follow his adventures on Instagram @santarunsultras.
