S2:E1 - You Can't Own Me Sep 21, 2020

Show notes

#BusyIsBack! We missed y'all and we missed podding. With three months of music news and releases to catch up on, we introduce a new segment called Out of Office! Try to name everything that happened and projects that released between June and now before tuning in. Half&Half briefly previews Kanye West's contract ordeals and why people aren't really listening to him. We're running back our homegirl Alexis Salkey as Employee of The Month because she deserves the full ting. You know the Slide Deck is active as always. Nic picks up the tempo with Durand Bernarr's "Racket!" and Armon slows it down a little with "Garden Rain" by Jaz Karis. ARTISTS!!! Send us your tracks to be potentially played as a Slide. Of course, the Board Meeting covers ownership in the creative space as Joe Budden is leaving Spotify, Kanye is dropping 50 screenshots of his contract, and De La Soul's music is in the Library of Congress but not iTunes, smh. Bulletin Board? Still ain't all that much going on, BUT send us flyers and links to your concerts, panels, etc and we'll promote for you. It feels so good to be back! Stay safe, stay humble, stay busy, and enjoy the new outro!
