Main Fiction: "The Scars to Prove It" by Joachim Heijndermans
This story is original to StarShipSofa.
Joachim Heijndermans writes, draws, and paints nearly every waking hour. Originally from the Netherlands, he's been all over the world, boring people by spouting random trivia about toys, comics and film. A graduate of the Kubert School in New Jersey, he works as a graphic designer and cartoonist. His work has been featured in a number of publications, such as Mad Scientist Journal, Asymmetry Fiction, Metaphorosis, Econoclash Review, and the Gallery of Curiosities and Gathering Storm Magazine, and he's currently in the midst of completing his first children's book. You can find his work at joachimheijndermans.com, or follow him on Twitter: @jheijndermans.
Narrator: Mark Kilfoil
Mark "the Encaffeinated ONE" Kilfoil loves fiction, so much so that he's written some (such as the Parsec-nominated Tainted Roses), read quite a lot (a library of over a thousand half-read books and growing) and now narrates them (sometimes actually recorded for others). He's found that volunteering for a dozen years in radio was a decent way to get a full-time job as a Program Director at a community radio station in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, but not such a great way to finish his thesis, so he stopped at a Masters in Computer Science. He can be heard frequently on CHSRfm.ca, and two of his shows regularly appear as podcasts, and can be found at encaffeinated.ca and theweirdshow.com. He likes cats enough to pet them but not enough to own one, and computers enough to own several but pet none of them. He will someday write a million words, but at this rate, that will require life extension, so he eagerly awaits the ability to upload into a computer, if that hasn't already happened and this is all only a simulation.

including Tales to Terrify, Visions from The Void, Fear's Accomplice, and The Voices Within. Whilst
primarily a horror writer, he also writes science fiction, poetry and satire. His newest anthology –
Scenes of Mild Peril – is due for release in Autumn 2018 from Stitched Smile Publications.
As well as being a writer and a member of the Horror Writer’s Association, David works as a
Software Developer and lives in Coventry with his wife, three cats, and an ever-growing beard.
David's wife once asked him if he'd write about how great she was. David replied that he would, because he specialized in short fiction. Despite that, they are still married.
He can frequently be found lurking online on twitter as @FoldsFive or at davidjcourt.co.uk.
Narrator: Nick Camm
Nick has done almost nothing else for the past 12 months other than narrate audio-books. He has not slept, eaten, felt the gentle touch of the sun, rode a bicycle, broken eggs to make an omelette, written his film script, or bought a Mark Rothko fridge magnet. He did, however, find time to get a couple of tattoos. There's always time for tattoos.
The books he narrated were almost exclusively crime-fiction. Professionally, sci-fi still eludes him. He doesn't know why.
