Obi-wan says: “That boy is our last hope.” Yoda responds: “No, there is another.” We find out in Return of the Jedi that “another” is Leia. Why didn’t Obi-Wan train Leia as well as Luke? Why does it seem like Obi-Wan has forgotten about her? Considering that all the Jedi have been eradicated except for Luke, it stands to reason that Leia would have been very important. She could have been another option besides Luke or even a second weapon against the Dark Side. Today we are bringing to life a transcript of George Lucas explaining Obi-Wan in this scene. Hopefully it will shed some light on Obi-Wan and his motivations towards Leia. Learn more about your ad choices.
