Advantage Man City, Brighton's Record Win, and a European Roundup | Stadio Podcast May 09, 2022
    Show notes

It’s the business end of the season, so Musa and Ryan begin by rounding up some key results around Europe this weekend, including title wins, races for European football, and relegation battles (2:31), before moving on to focus on the Premier League. It’s advantage Manchester City in the title race (26:41), after they responded by hammering Newcastle to improve their goal difference as well as their lead at the top. There’s a roundup of the rest of the Premier League, including what's next for Watford after they were relegated at the weekend (32:14), plus more drama in the relegation battle, Brighton’s biggest-ever top-flight win (39:01), which saw them beat Manchester United 4-0, and more!

    Show notes

Musa and Ryan discuss Liverpool’s 3-2 win away at Villarreal, which—despite a first-half scare—was enough to send them through to a third Champions League final in five years (01:47). They then round up some other key games from Monday and Tuesday, including Fulham's and Bournemouth’s automatic promotion back to the Premier League and Nottingham Forest narrowly missing out after an incredible season turnaround (24:46). Gladbach’s win over Leipzig means Freiburg’s Champions League qualification is in their own hands and Manchester United looked pretty good as they beat Brentford 3-0 at Old Trafford (31:13).

Why Would You Change This Champions League?! | Stadio Podcast Apr 28, 2022
    Show notes

Musa and Ryan discuss this week’s men’s Champions League semifinal first legs, which were very different but equally engrossing. They begin at the Etihad with one of the all-time great semifinal games between Manchester City and Real Madrid (06:47), which saw Pep Guardiola’s team take a narrow 4-3 lead as they head to Madrid. They then go to Anfield, where Liverpool broke down a stubborn and well-organized Villarreal team to lead the tie 2-0 at the halfway stage (31:47). There’s love for some of the amazing midfielders on show this week, plus a quick mention of some Serie A title-race drama.
