They also discuss the statements released by the BBC’s director general, Tim Davie, and Lineker ahead of his return to the show this week. They then discuss some football, including a huge win for Bournemouth over Liverpool (22:34), Schalke and Dortmund’s derby draw (30:51) and Barcelona’s win against Athletic Club at the end of a week when Barcelona was handed corruption charges (38:14).

They then head to London, where Milan did enough to hold off Spurs (16:13) and Chelsea put in one of their best performances under Graham Potter (29:24), before rounding off in Lisbon, where Benfica recorded their biggest Champions League win, which cost Scott Parker his job as Club Brugge manager (36:49).

    Musa and Ryan begin with the dispute between Canadian national team players and the Canadian Soccer Association over pay equity and the federation announcing budget cuts ahead of this year’s World Cup (06:53). Also, since we last spoke, the European Super League has got a new website, so there’s obviously talk about the competition that no one seems to want, apart from the people trying to form it (13:04). Finally, there were some dodgy VAR calls in the Premier League (30:03), Real Madrid are world champions, and Manchester United look set to push Chelsea all the way in the WSL.
