    1st Trimester Coding Practices Aug 31, 2020

    Socioeconomic Factors and Racial Disparities in Pre-term Birth Apr 17, 2020

    Despite significant advances in U.S. medical care, racial disparities in preterm births persist among non-Hispanic (NH) black and NH white women. Can socioeconomic factors explain the differences in pre-term births between these groups? Listen to Dr. Jasmine Johnson, a maternal-fetal medicine fellow and clinical instructor at the University of North Carolina, discuss her research on "Racial disparities in prematurity persist among women of high socioeconomic status."     COVID-19 in Pregnancy: What MFMs Need to Know Mar 25, 2020

    First reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019, coronavirus-associated disease (COVID-19) has quickly spread across the globe, prompting the World Health Organization to declare the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Communication to obstetric care providers about this disease, how best to advise pregnant women during this uncertain time, and how to protect themselves while providing care is imperative. Join Drs. Laura Riley, Brenna Hughes, and Suwan Mehra as they discuss frequently asked questions from MFMs about COVID-19.
