    Several checks go missing from a local business. It’s not the sort of low-level crime that would necessarily land at the top of Ret. Detective David’s list, but this is a small town and the son of the owners is a felon so police bring him in for questioning. As Detective David peels back the layers of the onion, a complex, criminal conspiracy leads the investigation all the way to the Mexican border.
    Special Guest: “Classic” Retired Detective David
    Detective David (Retired) served 10 years as a Scout in the U.S. Army, followed by 20 years in Law Enforcement starting as a from Patrol Officer and retiring as a Detective Lieutenant. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensic Psychology. While he was on active duty as a police officer he worked Patrol, SWAT, Criminal Investigations, Compliance and Internal Affairs Investigations, and also served as a Special Operations Commander. He currently supervises investigations for a large transportation company and is the father of three girls.

    Paul Holes takes the team through a series of cold cases that sat unsolved for years until modern DNA testing shed new light on the killers. This is an episode about persistence and keeping a close eye on even the smallest speck of evidence.
    Special Guest: Paul Holes spent the majority of his 27-year career investigating cold cases and serial-predator crimes in the Bay Area of California. Just before he retired in April 2018, Paul led the team that broke the Golden State Killer case, which brought him worldwide acclaim. Other notable cases he’s worked on include The Zodiac, Laci Peterson, Jaycee Dugard, Darryl Kemp, Joseph Naso, and Joseph Cordova Jr. Paul recently released an audiobook titled “Evil Has a Name” which is available on Audible. You can also hear him on the true-crime podcast, "The Murder Squad.” which he co-hosts with investigative journalist Billy Jensen.

    A well-established East Coast doctor travels to a small university town and distributes flyers asking students to participate in a sex experiment he’s conducting. Police are called to investigate when one suspicious student thinks the information on the flyer sounds an awful lot like soliciting prostitution.

    Lieutenant Scottis a 31-year veteran of law-enforcement. Scott has worked at a variety of assignments from patrol, SWAT, Detectives, and Special Operations, to gang enforcement, Internal Affairs, and Special Investigations. Lt. Scott is also a forensic artist.

    Lou is in and out of prison, but if you put him in a shirt and tie and sat him behind a desk, you’d never know that about him. It’s just one of the unique things about Lou. One day, he’s approached by a fellow inmate named Jason about a murder-for-hire. Lou immediately contacts the cops. As Det. Robert investigates he gets much more than he bargained for.
    Special Guest: Detective Robert
    Detective Robert has been in law enforcement for over 18 years. He spent nine years on patrol, where he served as a field-training officer (FTO) and an FBI-trained hostage negotiator. He was subsequently promoted to corporal and later to detective. As a new detective, he worked in the crimes against children unit, which investigates sex crimes, serious physical abuse, and child homicides. He was later re-assigned to the violent crimes unit, where he continues to serve. He is an active member of his county’s major crimes team, which investigates homicides and officer-involved shootings.

    Show notes Firefighters get called to a late-night fire. Police see a white Jeep leaving the area and catch the license plate. As Ret. Det. Dawn starts her investigation, she finds a trail of destruction that leads back to a man who tells law enforcement it wasn’t him because he was buying a phone at 3 am. Yep.
    Special Guest: Retired Detective Dawn
    Dawn is a U.S. Army veteran and now a retired detective. During her career, she became an expert in Arson Investigation and Computer Forensics and worked with the DOJ, ATF, and other national and international agencies. For her work, Dawn has earned awards from the International Association of Arson Investigators and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Since retiring, Dawn continues to train new officers and investigators in sexual assault investigations and has earned a National award for her efforts as a firearms instructor at her State’s Police Academy.

    A military general from a Southeast Asian country gets arrested in the United States, along with his bodyguard, for orchestrating a million-dollar heroin deal. However, not content to sit and wait for their trial to begin, the two men plan a jailbreak. They just need two other participants to pull it off, which is how one of our favorite guests, Sgt. David becomes the Fourth Man.
    Special Guest: Sgt. David Sgt. David is a 30-year veteran of law enforcement. As a detective, he has lead investigations into murder, child abuse, robbery, narcotics, auto theft, burglary, and sexual assault. He has worked patrol, is currently the SWAT team commander, and is in charge of his agency’s detective bureau.

    Darrell, the donut maker, doesn’t show up for work one morning, which is highly unusual for him. When Investigator Tracey and her team are called in they find evidence of a violent, bloody confrontation at Darrell’s home, but still no sign of Darrell. This became a groundbreaking case for prosecutors in Tracey’s jurisdiction.


    Special Guest: Investigator Tracey

    After reading her first Nancy Drew mystery at age 7 Inv. Tracey knew that she wanted to solve real-life mysteries. She graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Criminal Justice/ Law Enforcement. She attended the police academy in 1983 as one of only a few females in her class. For the next 30 years, she was a Criminal Investigator for the Solicitor General and District Attorney's offices. She is married to a retired Federal Special Agent, has two grown sons and a Jack Russell fur baby.

In 2014, he was promoted to Detective in the Person Crimes department where he now investigates homicides, assaults, and sex crimes in his small town.
