Slam the Gavel welcomes Jeffery Morehouse on the podcast to discuss the non-compliance of Japan in regards to The Hague Convention as well as his own case. In addition to being an award-winning filmmaker, Jeffery Morehouse volunteers much of his time as Executive Director of Bring Abducted Children Home (www.bachome.org). According to U.S. Government figures more than 475 American children have been kidnapped by a parent to Japan since 1994.
Bring Abducted Children Home is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the immediate return of internationally abducted children being wrongfully detained in Japan. Italso strives to end Japan's human rights violation of denying children unfettered access to both parents. BAC Home works to increase public awareness through outreach on the crisis of international parental child abduction. He collaborates with an alliance of international partners working to end child abduction to and within in Japan.
He is also a founding partner in The Coalition to End International Parental Child Abduction (www.endchildabduction.org) uniting organizations to work to put an end to international parental kidnapping of children through advocacy/public policy reform. In July 2022, U.S. Senate Resolution 568, noted, “the Coalition to End International Parental Child Abduction, through dedicated advocacy and regular testimony, has highlighted the importance of this issue to Congress and called on successive administrations to take concerted action to stop international parental child abduction and repatriate kidnapped United States children.”
Between 2015-2021 he testified and briefed the U.S. Congress eight times. Most recently on September 29, 2021 in The Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission and December 10, 2018 in the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee on Japan’s systemic failure to return kidnapped children. James Sisco, US Veteran, Shares His Mistreatment By Personality Disorders In The Family Court Dec 12, 2022

Slam the Gavel welcomes James Sisco to the podcast. James has served in the Marine Corp and Navy for 23 years. He did four combat tours, including Desert Storm and three tours in Afghanistan. James also has a 90% disability rating from the VA, which includes PTSD. He was married for 11 years. There was never any physical/mental abuse with her or the children. A model father the entire time, taking them on family vacations twice a year, camping trips, participated in their extracurricular activities and teaching them values and integrity. His wife filed for divorce and gave James primary custody of TWO of the three children, splitting up the kids. She made no attempts to resolve the matter amicably or co-parent. While his youngest daughter was in his ex-wife’s care, she threatened to hurt herself six days before her 9th birthday. He found out about it through his lawyer several days later. However, on his daughter’s birthday, the ex-wife would not allow her to see James or her siblings. While representing himself, the judge delivered the most extreme case of judicial bias imaginable. He granted full legal custody of all three children to the ex-wife, made James undergo a Psychological Eval, a 14 week Parenting Course, Anger Management course, and awarded the ex-wife $25K in legal fees. James completed all of the requirements, went back to court to get custody and Judge Thomas Mann threw the motion out and again awarded the ex -wife $30K in legal fees, claiming there was no material change and that James continued to conduct "Parental Alienation." Judge Mann ruled in the first case that this was a "cooling off" period to allow mother to reconnect with the children. James has appealed the ruling, submitted another motion to modify custody and visitation, which the ex-wife’s lawyer objected to. James is now waiting on the courts decision to hear the case. This dad has not had any physical contact with his three children in almost 15 months. His interactions are limited to 30 minute Skype calls on Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 7:00pm. The Skype calls are MONITORED and RECORDED by the ex-wife who ends them regularly WITHOUT WARNING OR NOTICE. The ex-wife has not allowed James to see his kids on Christmas, New Years, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, or on birthdays. James also has sent over 70 emails requesting increased communications or in-person visits through lawyers and paralegals—the majority of which were not responded to—with no increase in communications or in-person visitation. The ex-wife put two of the children on ADHD medicine and enrolled all three of them in therapy. The therapist has a reputation of taking the woman’s side on matters like these and has been unresponsive to Jame's requests for a therapy plan, objectives of the therapy, and timeline. She told James that she needs to "build trust" with the children and when she does, she will "let them decide." Moreover, Judge Mann also ruled that he will not contact the therapist because she "felt threatened" by father's emails. James has reached out to advocacy groups, lawyers, the VA and even started a Go Fund Me Page to generate awareness and get help. he has had three different lawyers represent him and continues to get screwed by the legal system that EMPOWERED the ex-wife, who has made every effort to remove their father from the children’s lives. Slam the Gavel welcomes Michaela Wade from the UK . Michaela is one of the Co-Founders of the Family Law Assistance Franchise, which is a growing band of a new breed of legal practitioners who help people represent themselves in the family courts, using a mix of legal knowledge and coaching techniques.
Her background as a Master Coach and Hypnotherapist, as well as being an NLP and Hypnosis Trainer, means she has all the tools to help clients manage their mindset and anxiety and put themselves in the best possible position to win their case in Family Court.
We discussed why it is difficult for parents that are supposed to resolve their differences in an adversarial arena and that the system alone is set up to be adversarial.
Parent's feelings before and after court and that sometimes a parent will feel court didn't go well when it did. Will the court actually see through the lies was a discussion on how the judiciary handles problems such as this. We also talked about court sexism and that it is actually neck to neck, despite how people view it on a personal level which led to how important it is for parents to work together and not make it a Fathers or Mothers rights issue.
Michaela encourages parents to never give up hope whether during the holidays or any day. Never give up.

Marineka Bowman Speaks Out On An ER Emergency Ex parte Motion, Denying Her Daughter To See Her ON CHRISTMAS DAY, Child Psychological Abuse By The Courts Dec 10, 2022

Slam the Gavel welcomes back Marineka Bowman as well as her mother to the podcast for an update to discuss what took place during an Emergency Ex parte Motion on Monday, December 5th, 2022. Marineka was last on the podcast, Season 3, Episodes 104, 131, 159 and 160.
Marineka was reached via telephonic conference and the opposing attorney Laura Brooks was worried and concerned that Marineka was, "disparaging the court, herself, the father and the child due to being on podcasts and this will affect the child psychologically."
Their reasons for this Emergency Ex parte is that Marineka is involved in a series of podcasts, and they say that she refuses to do counseling, took her daughter to the ER stating that her father punched her in the head and refusing to communicate with father with Family Wizard.
Attorney Laura Brooks took this case to the court with no evidence to back it up and no police report was made because all allegations that dad made and the video he made of child sexual abuse. This was never reported to the police, but Attorney Laura Brooks took it to the court.
The father walked out of their lives when Marineka's daughter was two months old. But now he's back. For child support.
DFS (CPS) does not care as it is a child trafficking ring. Judge Haskins has not considered how this is going to affect the child. These are all CHILD PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSERS that DON'T REALLY CARE if Marineka's child is emotionally tortured and won't see her mother on Christmas.

Slam the Gavel welcomes Barry Goldstein to the podcast. Barry Goldstein is an advocate, speaker and highly recognized Domestic Violence Author as well as being an attorney for 30 years. Most of his practice involved representing protective Mothers.
Barry Goldstein has been involved in the Domestic Violence movement since 1983 and served on the board of a Domestic Violence shelter in Westchester County for 14 years including four years as chairperson. An instructor and later as a supervisor in a NY Model Batterer Program since 1999, Barry Goldstein has written the leading books about Domestic Violence and Child Custody. He also co-edited two volumes of Domestic Violence, Abuse and Child Custody with Dr. Mo Therese Hannah. He also co-authored Representing the Domestic Violence Survivor with Elizabeth Liu. His work also includes authoring, Scared to Leave Afraid to Stay and The Quincy Solution: Stop Domestic Violence and Save $500 Billion.
A sought after speaker, Barry's expertise has been welcomed by many organizations including the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Battered Women's Custody Conference, National Domestic Violence Hotline, American Psychological Association, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, OVW in the US Justice Department, Center for Judicial Excellence, Canadian Institute of Health, Oklahoma Attorney General's Office and the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Geralyn Lambou Speaks Out On The Mistreatment Of Her Father And Their Family Through Thieving Guardianship Dec 06, 2022

Slam the Gavel welcomes Geralyn Lambou to the podcast to speak out on what happened to her 93 year-old father. It all started after her mother passed in 2017. Her nephew had moved in to help care for her father. Through unfortunate circumstances the nephew had passed. Geralyn had then moved in to help care for her father. She realized his dementia was worsening and also had a Durable POA. Friends recommended a doctor for Geralyn to take her father to. Geralyn was seeking advice from this retired doctor and his wife.
The doctor recommended that he be put in a facility to calm him down and then later return home. However he never returned home. Geralyn would never trust physicians or lawyers again as the lawyer called and told her her father would be staying in the facility permanently. Someone changed the Estate paperwork.
Her father was isolated for three years. The three individuals mentioned in an affidavit had isolated their father, medicated him, changed all of his estate documents, and liquidated his estate.
The family found out where their father was living and all those that visited him were told to leave, otherwise they would call the police for trespassing, even though their father would ask for them to visit. In three years they moved him to four different places. The family would soon find out where he was but on the third move the family could not find him. Geralyn reported her father missing.
On October 10, 2022 Geralyn was notified through the same court their family were fighting this guardianship case in, that their father had passed away on August 20th, 2022, seven weeks later.
Geralyn and her family now knew where he had lived and the funeral home who buried him. They called the last place their father lived and were told that the guardian told them she was his daughter and the funeral home was told he had no family.

Nicole Andersen, CPSS, Discusses Peer Support Certification And Breaking The Generational Cycle Of Dysfunction Dec 05, 2022

Slam the Gavel welcomes Nicole Andersen, CPSS back onto the podcast. She was last on Season #3, Episode 136. She is certified in peer support and very dedicated to helping others heal. Nicole also spreads awareness about psychological abuse, which is also called hidden abuse which we discussed in our last podcast.
Nicole discussed how to obtain Peer Support Certification and gave contact information. All is needed a GED/HS diploma and lived experience of trauma, mental health issues and substance abuse issues. There are two levels, the state, just Google your state and Peer Certification and the requirements will be provided on how to obtain the certification. There is also Nationwide Peer Support Certification as well which is a two year program and 3,000 hours of Peer Support work with a supervisor.
We also discussed The ACE's Scores and how they affect the physical through physical/emotional traumas. Nicole also brought up other therapies to help re-wire your brain such as CVT and DVT. We talked about DVT Therapy where you can learn to re-wire your brain. They are targeted on to getting you out of the survival mindset, abused cycle of thinking and into a more un-traumatized cycle of thinking. You are re-wiring your brain to see things of less than a threat until they prove that they are a threat. In re-wiring your thinking patterns you then are helping to re-wire your nervous system so it's less sensitive and they will start working together to look for the red flags, the proof that it is not a good situation to be in.

Slam the Gavel welcomes back Laurie Smith to the podcast to discuss how to cope during the holidays. We all have been innocently set up to fail, thinking the holidays should be a certain way in families.
When there are other things going on such as a loss, grieving, a loved one deployed in the military and the stress of family court there must be self care.
The holidays are what a person makes it even if family is not or can't be around to celebrate with. Laurie discussed the book Twelve Days Of Gabor Mate, MD. and how helpful it is. Laurie is also running a half off course and the details are in the podcast notes.
Think of out of the box of ways to celebrate the holidays. What does it really mean to have a holiday? We are not taught to ask ourselves what we need. Self care and other distractions such as hobbies, dancing, knitting can help distract the mind. Think outside the box!
We talked about the effects of bringing joy into others's lives. Even smiling is a muscle memory and can help change your own mood. After all, "joy is in the gift of giving."

Lee Granade Explains How Judicial Corruption Is Not Limited To The Murdaughs In The Low Country Dec 03, 2022

Slam the Gavel welcomes Lee Granade to the podcast. Her case is out of the 14th Judicial Circuit in South Carolina which has enabled the Murdaughs, the super lawyers and solicitors for nearly 100 years, to prosper since the 1920's. They have been tied to moonshining and interference with juries and most recently insurance fraud and murders.
Lee Granade's ex-husband's connections with that family go back to the 1970s. She has lost her children and everything to a man who has a long history of abuse and has been demoted from multiple federal government jobs but is connected to the powers that be in the 14th Circuit. Her ex has even told her that "custody has been set, just you see, these are games attorneys play." The predetermined verdict was already set in place before Lee entered the courtroom.
He took a new wife five months after divorce and then less than a month of his marriage there was a suspicious house fire where Lee's then 11 year old son had been left alone moments earlier. He got out alive however he has been plagued with anxiety. However there was no investigation. There was no police report, no change in custody, nothing… The ex’s college roommate is the county attorney who represents the police. They made it all go away. Via FOIA and subpoena, Lee discovered that the authorities did not follow any of their protocols. She also determined that there appeared to be a cover up between the police and her ex-husband.
Lee went to them with subpoenaed insurance documents showing where insurance paid her ex and herself, because she was still owner at the time of the unexplained fire, and they took an incident report but refused to charge that as well.
Next court date is December 13th, 2022 and Lee will be back on the podcast for an update.
