All Wings Report In for this STAR WARS RESISTANCE FLYBY of "Signal From Sector Six"! This week, we discuss S1 E07 - gundarks, rathtars and reeks, oh my! And Poe Dameron is BACK! Hear why this just may be our favorite episode so far.

Richard calls out Creature Appearances, and this week that's half the show! I talk about musical moments, especially the "monkey-messing-around music". We also share our first thoughts, questions raised by the episode and our favorite moments.

As representatives of the Resistance they board the abandoned ship to aid any survivors, only to find unfriendly lifeforms aboard - Kowakian Monkey Lizards! Poe and Kaz also find an unconscious Mirialan female and deliver her to safety on The Colossus, narrowly avoid being eaten by the biggest Kowakian Ape Lizard you've ever seen! 229: Happy 90th Birthday Mickey Mouse! Nov 12, 2018

Show notes

Join us in a special celebration of Mickey Mouse on his 90th birthday!

Mickey Mouse turns 90 on 11/18/18!! We celebrate the legend, the pop culture icon and the man behind the mouse on this very special episode. Dave Skale (The Ghost Host; Rebel Spy) takes us on a journey through Mickey's history from the very inception. Mickey's birth starts with Oswald the Rabbit in the 1920's, then continues through film shorts in the 30's and 40's. The 50's saw the rise of TV and The Mickey Mouse Club. But it's not all "Oh Boy's" and "Hot Dogs!" Mickey has had his fair share of legal battles. We take Mickey's story all the way to the present and beyond with exhaustive research, sound clips and music. Join us in this special celebration!

Resistance Flyby: "The Children From Tehar" Nov 07, 2018

Show notes

All Wings Report In for this STAR WARS RESISTANCE FLYBY of "The Children From Tehar"! This week, we discuss S1 E06 as the story delves more into the Star Wars universe. We've introduced all of our main characters; Kaz, Tam, Yeager and Neeku; and their relationship to each other. Now it's time to connect Star Wars Resistance to the overall Star Wars Saga. This episode is the beginning of that connection. We get mentions of Kylo Ren! Captain Phasma makes another appearance. And a mysterious symbol from Tehar keeps popping up. We also meet the children from Tehar - Kel and Eila.

Richard calls out Creature Appearances. I talk about musical moments, including one having to do with this mysterious symbol. We also share our first thoughts, questions raised by the episode and our favorite moments.

"The Children From Tehar"

Directed by Saul Ruiz Written by Paul Giacoppo

In need of credits to fix a broken compensator part, Kaz turns bounty hunter and intends to find two missing children to claim the necessary credits. Meanwhile, Captain Doza speaks to Captain Phasma and learns that the bounty for the children was set by The First Order. Star Wars Resistance Flyby: "Fuel for the Fire" and "The High Tower" Nov 02, 2018

Show notes

All Wings Report In for this DOUBLE FEATURE of STAR WARS RESISTANCE FLYBY! This week, we discuss S1 E04 - "Fuel for the Fire" and S1 E05 "The High Tower". Now we are moving past introducing characters, and seeing some backstory. Hype Fazon has a bigger role! Voiced by Donald Faison, Richard and I couldn't help but delight in seeing his character come alive onscreen after meeting Donald at the Star Wars Resistance Roundtable. Richard calls out classic creature appearances and classic sound FX. I talk about musical moments. We also share our first thoughts, questions raised by each episode and our favorite moments.

"Fuel for the Fire"

Directed by Bosco Eng Written by Eugene Son

Kaz meets a new group of friends lead by Jace Rucklin (voiced by Elijah Wood). Jace isn't the true friend he makes himself out to be, however. He has an ulterior motive which includes stealing Yeager's hyperfuel.

"The High Tower"

Directed by Steward Lee Written by Stephany Folsom

Kaz's mission as a spy kicks in as he discovers that The First Order has come to the Colossus. Major Vonreg attempts to persuade Capt. Doza to utilize their help in eradicating pirates, ultimately putting the Colossus in the hands of the First Order, the plan that was set forth in the Triple Dark episode.

228: Trick Or Treat - Skywalking Through Halloween, part 2 Oct 26, 2018

Show notes

Welcome to the SPOOK-tastic Part 2 of our Halloween Extravaganza! Throughout the episode, our friends drop by to Trick or Treat: Creature performer Dee Tails, Jason and Gabe (Blast Points Podcast), Tom Spina (Regal Robot) and Jeff Baham (Mousetalgia). We also have quite a few international shout-outs from Martin Keeler (Fantha Tracks).

Dee Tails was in town this past month, and we took him on his very first Halloween experience! It was our first time to try out the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride here in Griffith Park as well. We document the experience and I think we all learned a little something about Dee's scare threshold that night. Check out the story and pictures from the event.

Then we huddle around the Endor bonfire and read from the new book, "Are You Scared Darth Vader?" by Adam Rex. Who knew Richard could sound so Vader-like??
