In this episode we chatted with co-founder of MASAMI haircare, Lynn Power as she explained the immensely nourishing and hydrating Japanese rituals that inspired her and James’ beautiful Haircare line. Lynn dives into the philosophy of the traditional hair care routines we often overlook by indulging in over-sudsy products or those that strip away the natural moisture of our scalp and hair. In the words of the brand , “James and Lynn have a passion for haircare that is unmatched -- an unwavering commitment to formulate clean haircare products that hydrate like nothing else for the past decade (which is how long it took to create MASAMI's clean formulation). We wanted people to feel great about their hair everyday -- not just great because their hair looked amazing, but their hair was truly healthy, hydrated and manageable. Botanically hydrating Mekabu, beneath the Wakame leaf, is filled with ocean vitamins and minerals to leave your hair healthy, shiny and gorgeous. All of MASAMI's products are infused with Mekabu powder, fresh from Japan where we source it from a family owned seaweed company.”--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

E.367: Social Media Inspired Makeup Is Taking TikTok & ULTA By Storm ft. YOUTH FORIA Oct 10, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

    Let’s Chat

Youthforia was launched by Fiona Co Chan in 2021. The idea for Youthforia came about right when COVID hit. Perhaps it was the inability to go out and see people, but Fiona kept coming back to this idea that the best part of wearing makeup is going out with your friends and sometimes that means forgetting to take your makeup off. She really wanted makeup that was good for your skin, so good you could sleep in it. During the development of Youthforia, Fiona slept in all of the lab samples (and recruited her husband to sleep in them too) and woke up with much better skin. It completely changed her beauty routine philosophy - makeup is an extension of skincare. And sleeping in lab samples is a huge part of the Youthforia testing process. Above all, we love caring for your skin - we truly believe that makeup should be good for your skin. She's also passionate about Green Chemistry and not using fossil fuels and it's a big pillar of the Youthforia formulation philosophy, because most makeup contains liquid microplastic and she just didn't want to do that. Fiona was recognized by Byrdie Eco Awards as a Eco Beauty Hero and a Disruptor. She likes making beautiful makeup that has a unique spin on existing categories while being friendly to the planet and being good for skin. Basically, the entire Youthforia brand is just a collection of things she finds interesting to work on and is all about inspiring fun and being with your friends.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

E.365: Indie Skincare’s Rising Star, SIMPURE Is Raising The Bar For Industry Wide Standards Oct 06, 2022

In this episode we sat down with the creator of SIMPURE, Annabell Catania, as she walked us into a whole new category of skincare: Indie Luxury. Although the term was coined by us after exploring Annabell’s line, it is no doubt that every product has been crafted with the most pristine craftsmanship and thought. SIMPURE started from a line of efficacious deodorant products and then expanded its range to cover the multitude of skin health battles consumers face of the daily. Annabell describes her line as a merger of science and nature and we must agree that it truly brings the efficacy of both realms together in an elegant way. SIMPURE has multiple hero products and goes above and beyond most “indie” brands by not only delivering affordable and accessible products, but backing them with “no BS” Inkey lists that leave out the excess water and pack on the result driven ingredients we all love in our favorite skincare. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support
