    In our journey through motherhood and homeschooling, it's not uncommon to encounter overwhelming stress and a constant sense of imbalance. We, as parents, are so devoted to our children, especially when they have special needs, that we often put our own self-care on the back burner. It's a situation many of us can identify with, the feeling of being a pressure cooker on the brink of a mild panic attack.

    In Part 2 of the Family Government seriesI continue to introduce you to a powerful concept – Family Government. It's not about rules or obedience; it's about setting a firm foundation of habit and systemizing the basics of family functioning. It's a holistic approach that can transform your family dynamics and your own well-being, even in the face of overwhelming stress.

    I share in Part 1 my story of navigating the challenges of raising children with high needs. But here's the catch- I discovered a secret, a best-kept secret that changed my life. I found a way to maintain peace, unity, and love in our home, even during times of tremendous struggle and major life challenges with my children.

    I’ll share how I navigated this journey through the lens of Charlotte Mason's educational philosophy, Christian parenting, and the implementation of Family Government.

    I am excited to share with you how Family Government creates a routine for children, especially those with special needs who often thrive on structure, simultaneously fosters emotional and mental safety for all siblings, and removes the ability for children to manipulate parents through emotional triggers. It is a WIN - WIN all around.
