#50 Russell Kuhlman Lead Vs Non-lead Ammunition & Their Performance May 24, 2018
    Show notes

Following our last podcast with Chris Parish on lead ammunition and the toll it is taking on our Peregrine Falcon, we wanted to learn more about non-lead ammunition and its performance. We found Russell Kuhlman, a new hire at BHA. Russell is currently the California and Nevada Chapter Coordinator. He has quite an extensive background in firearms and ammunition and even has a degree in Wildlife Biology. Prior to his newly acquired position with BHA, he was the California Non-lead Outreach Coordinator. There he shot and tested the performance of various lead and non-lead ammunition into ballistic gel and jugs of water. He shot everything from pistol, rifle, shotgun and even muzzleloader ammunition. He was also a Skeet and Trap Coordinator at a local gun range. In this episode Russell shares his research and spreads a wealth of knowledge on how different non-lead ammunition types perform. It was shocking to find out just how well some of these no-lead ammo's perform at long ranges! So if your curious on how this no-lead ammo performs and where you can get your hands on it, give this episode a listen!

Here is a website Russell created awhile back on how non-lead performs at long range (400 yards).

Here is a Non-lead ammo company he refers to in the show

He comes to the podcast with a wealth of knowledge regarding Falconry, The Peregrine Fund and lead ammunition. Chris isn't a pushy guy, nor is he trying to promote an agenda. He simply brings facts and scientific information to the table for others to digest and form their own opinions. We talk about the Peregrine Falcon and how our lead ammunition is taking a toll on them. The research is astounding. It was definitely an eye opener for us. It makes us think a little deeper into the organic meat we harvest for ourselves and our families. We ask that you listen to this episode with an open mind and form your own conclusions as we have. As educational as this episode is, it definitely fits the Shoot'n The Bull mold. Enjoy the scientific facts and raw entertainment! Cheers!
