Maya Moore and Sue Bird are among the finalists to get on the ballot to gain entrance into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The Connecticut Sun deny Marina Mabrey’s trade request. The WNBA is about to tab Cleveland as its 16th franchise. Napheesa Collier beats Canadian Aaliyah Edwards in the 1v1 Tournament final. The NWSL salary cap is going up.

Marta eschews retirement and instead signs for two more years with the defending-NWSL-champion Orlando Pride. The NWSL will expand to Denver.
