    It’s only been a month into our hiatus before we’re back with a special episode. Joining Pete this week is the great Kali aka Eskalia.

    In the Greenleaf minute this week Pete’s letting you know not to be afraid to change things up in raid if a strategy isn’t working for your group. Change markers around, try a different strat, find something that works for you. Kali is also giving a beginner tip for roleplayers out there.

    News and Notes from Around the Realm

    In the news this week we have a Free Login Campaign that you can take advantage of. Now is a great time to finish up Shadowbringers if you haven’t. There was also a 14 hour broadcast going on at the same time as our show, you can go back and watch that on YouTube. There is also a new soundtrack out right now called Death Unto Dawn.

    As for our discussion we get Kali’s thoughts on the end of Shadowbringers. Then we discuss why FFXIV has been in the news a lot the last couple weeks. We go over the Twitch collaboration that was limited to a small number of streamers that wasn’t very diverse. Then we talk about Asmongold of WoW streaming fame giving FFXIV a try for the first time and all the attention that has brought to the game.

    In the Greenleaf minute this week we’re talking about some newly added mounts to the game. For the first time they are adding some gil sink mounts. We’re talking about what they are, where you can find them and just how much will the cost. If you’re a greenleaf you might think their price tags are high, but believe us, you’ll start raking in the gil once you’re max level.

    In the news this week there isn’t a lot of big new, but a lot of small news items. There is a new Dungeon Exploration Screenshot Sweepstakes going on. You can head on over to the Fan Fest site to see the schedule for both days. Unfortunately the in person Fan Fest for Tokyo has been cancelled, it will all be online. There is another contest going on for Estates of the Realm where you can show off your housing. Finally rounding out the news is a new collaboration with Butterfinger that can net yourself a new mount.

    As for our discussion this week, we are focusing on everything we did the first week of patch 5.5. Together we both did the new alliance raid and Diamond Weapon normal and extreme. We’re going to keep this week MSQ spoiler free.

Pete got a question during a stream asking if people had to go through the story if they’ve already gone through the story and want to make an alt. Yes, you will have to do it all over again, you don’t get any sort of skip unless you decide to buy one from the cash shop.

    In our discussion this week we’re talking about the ethics of the same. What ethical belief system do characters have? Has the game given us any interesting moral dilemmas to consider? And has Yoshida succeeded when he says they are trying to add grey area between good and bad? Then we also have Avi discussing how fun it was to introduce someone new to FFXIV.

    In the news this week we have the new Valentione’s Day and Little Ladies’ Day combo event. Optional items from past events have been added to the FFXIV online store. Square Enix has announced a Digital Fan Fest, of course there will be an art contest for that as well. Last but not least there will be a Playstation 5 beta for FFXIV starting in April.

    The big discussion that made this episode a supersized edition was about the showcase announcement for 6.0. We found out it will be called Endwalker and we got the first teaser trailer for it as well. We go over the trailer and all of the information for Endwalker that was revealed in the showcase.
