Oathbringer Retrospective Mar 29, 2019

Show notes

It's been exactly 500 days, one Rosharan year since Oathbringer's release, and so here is an episode where after we reread Oathbringer, we see what we think about the book now that we aren't hyped to oblivion about it. Did our thoughts change? How's the pacing? All this and more this week on Shardcast! (Don't worry, there will be more Death Rattles next week!) We have almost everyone on the show this week, with a record six people. We have Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), Evgeni (Argent), Grace (thegatorgirl), Ben (Overlord Jebus)--who's internet sucked hard so he had to leave--and Shannon (Greywatch). Children of the Nameless Mar 15, 2019

Show notes

At least a nonzero of you wanted this: an episode on Children of the Nameless, a novella Brandon wrote in the Magic: The Gathering universe, released for free last December. Is it any good? Turns out it's actually pretty good even if you don't know about Magic. We are going to talk about the plot as well as the lore. To that end we have a special guest Colton (coltonx9), a Sharder and long time listener who we brought in to educate us about Magic: The Gathering lore. We also have Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), and Evgeni (Argent). Shardcast is the premier podcast on Brandon's works, Stormlight Archive, Mistborn, and all of the cosmere, run by the mega-fans at 17th Shard. Shardplatecast! Mar 09, 2019

Show notes

This week, it isn't Shardcast, but ShardPLATEcast, because we're talking about Shardplate. We talk about all the details on how Shardplate works, its function, differences between the Radiant version and non-Radiant version. Of course, we hypothesize how one gets Plate and how that works. But wait, there's also Inception noises and Avengers references. Everything you could want, really. We just have three of us today: Eric (Chaos), Evgeni (Argent), and Ben (Overlord Jebus) who's mic is bad today because... well, you'll see. Grrrr. Yes, I know he sounds like crap in this. History of Roshar Part 1 Feb 16, 2019

Show notes

Continuing our series of episodes where we think "eh, we won't talk that much, we can fit it into one episode" is the History of Roshar. Yeah, okay, it's hilarious we could fit it into one episode, but we spent a lot more time on Rosharan prehistory than I expected! We get up through the Last Desolation this week, and we'll talk about after the Desolations and the Recreance next time. We have Eric (Chaos), Evgeni (Argent), Grace (thegatorgirl), and Joshua (jofwu). (If you'd like to see my Desolation math spreadsheet, it's here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1prORC7cmaPfyzR3O6RBYT5NtZRDEsmu_rG10oRaSQOI/edit?usp=sharing) Shardcast is the premier podcast on Brandon's works, Stormlight Archive, Mistborn, and all of the cosmere, run by the mega-fans at 17th Shard. "Who Needs Rails?" Idaho Falls Holiday Words of Brandon Feb 09, 2019

Show notes

We did it, everyone. It's the last Words of Brandon episode for (hopefully) a long time, with the holiday 2018 Idaho Falls Words of Brandon. Behold my cohosts work really hard at derailing my best efforts at getting on task, from talking about Hoid's tramp stamp, and so, so much more. Where we're going, we don't need rails, I guess. You don't know what I do for mankind. Without me, you've doomed yourself to Argent stories... We have Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), Evgeni (Argent), and Grace (thegatorgirl). Send your Who's That Cosmere Characters to whosthatcosmerecharacter@gmail.com. See you next week!
