    Hello!

On today’s show: the troll who grabbed Ariana at the Wicked premiere is sentenced to jail, and Sydney Sweeney’s new film is a commercial flop - so how much can it be explained by her recent poor press? This week, Zara recommended Cat Burns on Great Company. Belly recommended listening to Rosalía’s album, LUX.

Re-examining the legacy of Caroline Flack Nov 16, 2025
    Show notes

    Hello hello,

Today’s episode of Shameless touches on themes of suicide and self-harm. Help is available and you are not alone. You can reach out to Lifeline Australia, or, if you’re an international listener, please visit Find A Helpline.

Coming up on today’s show: British TV presenter Caroline Flack died by suicide on February 15, 2020. At the time of her death, Caroline was facing domestic abuse allegations, awaiting trial, and experiencing a full-scale pillorying in the British tabloids. Now, a new documentary, led by her mother Christine, is raising some serious questions about the validity of that domestic violence charge, and the circumstances that led to Caroline’s ultimately preventable death.

Thankyou so much to Cancer Council and the Australian Government for making this episode of Shameless possible. Let’s end the trend of skin cancer. Also, shoutout to All’s Fair on Disney+.

You can watch Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth here.

In this episode, Zara recommended Mongrel by Hanako Footman. Mich does not recommend promising infinite cameos to thousands of listeners (but no regrets of course ;) ).

Your hosts are Zara McDonald (@zamcdonald) and Michelle Andrews (@michelleandrews1).

    Hiii hi hi!

On today’s show: What in the world is going on with Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and that Halloween costume? Plus, The Girls Bathroom has launched a lifestyle brand, and people have thoughts that we’d like to counter. Timothee Chalamet has some rather candid, and blunt, thoughts on having kids. And then, Kim Kardashian announces she did not pass the bar.

This week, Zara recommended watching Celebrity Traitors UK.

Should we all be bored? Nov 09, 2025
    Show notes

    Hello!

Coming up on today’s show: is having a boyfriend embarrassing now? It’s the Vogue article that’s fully taken over the world – to the point where it was pitched as a story to all four of our existing podcast pillars lol. This piece has clearly hit a nerve so we wanted to deep it. And later – is boredom a good thing? Or should we all stop romanticising it?

Thanks so much to Disney+ for making this episode of Shameless possible. And, big shout-out to Lyka! Remember to use SHAMELESS40 for 40% your first two orders with Lyka.

On today’s show, Mich recommended I Was Actually There on ABC iView. Zara recommended Heart The Lover by Lily King.

    Show notes

    Hello!

On today’s show: Julia Fox’s Halloween costume stirred lots of controversy, and we’d like to deep why. Prince Harry is on a podcast and is very confused; what’s to be made of Millie Bobby Brown’s reported complaints against David Harbour? Jennifer Lawrence suggests she’s done talking about politics, Nobody Wants All This Product Placement, and then!! Slow News Week hehe

This week, Zara recommended reading Loved One by Aisha Muharrar.

Mean Girl Energy Nov 02, 2025
    Show notes

    Hi hi hi!

Coming up on today’s show: “It’s giving mean girl”. We see this kind of comment all the time, on our own socials, and all across the internet. But what does it actually mean? What is ‘mean girl energy’ – what are ‘mean girl vibes’? This language is so evocative, but are we actually using it to call out mean behaviour, or are we using it to just… shut women down?

The ultimate divorce album Oct 29, 2025
    Show notes

    Hello!

On today’s show: Lily Allen and her new album, of course, we decode the lyrics, the stories, as much as we possibly can. Plus, Kristen Bell strikes twice, all the latest in Prince Andrew’s disastrous fall from grace, and it would appear Sophie Turner and Chris Martin are dating?

This week, Mich recommended reading Man’s Search for Meaning. Zara recommended The Rest is Politics’ Murdoch series.

    Who's a Scientologist? Oct 26, 2025
    Show notes

    Hi there!

Coming up on today’s show: it seems like every time SNL cast member Chloe Fineman is mentioned on the internet, the top comment is always something like – “She’s funny, but she’s a Scientologist.” Is it true that Chloe Fineman and her family have ties to Scientology? If it is… wouldn’t that make her a victim who deserves our sympathy, not some big bad bully who deserves to be taken down a peg?

On today’s show, Zara recommended Jennifer Aniston on Armchair Expert.

Huge thanks to Love Island Australia for making this episode of Shameless possible. Also, shout-out to Dyson and the Dyson Co-anda Airwrap2x.

    Hello!

On today’s show: Calling all Benson Booners!!! His ex-girlfriend is hinting that all did not end well in their relationship, and we need to spend HEAPS of time talking about it. Plus, that Kristen Bell anniversary post, the Hailey Bieber/Selena Gomez headlines kick off again, we wouldn’t mind talking about the Golden Bachelor, if that’s OK? And then, wtf is 6 7.

This week, Mich recommended watching The Perfect Neighbour on Netflix. Zara recommended Famous Last Words with Jane Goodall on Netflix.

"But what about me?" Oct 19, 2025
    Show notes

    Hiya!

Coming up on today’s show: “What about me?” That is the overwhelming theme within so many comment sections these days, and we wanted to deep it. Why do we feel like absolutely everything we see on the internet has to be tailored individually to us? Is this just the natural reaction to how ultra-personalised our algorithms have become?

Thankyou so much to Elite Eleven for making this episode of Shameless possible. Also, shout-out to Bumble!
