    37 - Periods and Sex Jul 03, 2018
    Show notes

In ancient Judaism, a woman was unclean while she was on her period. She could only return to the marriage bed 7 days after her period stopped and only then after going through ritual cleansing. So, that means opportunity for sexual relations were not nearly as plentiful as it is for us since Christ came.

So, my friends, let's talk about periods and sex

    • To start, let's talk about female health in general, what are some things that affect our periods and are signs that a woman should go to her doctor?
    • Is there any reason to prohibit sexual relations while a wife is on her period according to Christian traditions?
    • What are some things to help make it less messy and more comfortable?

    From the Bible

    Leviticus 12: "Purification after childbirth."

Leviticus 15:19: "When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening."

Leviticus 15:28: "When she is cleansed from her discharge, she must count off seven days, and after that she will be ceremonially clean."

Galatians 3:23-25: "Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian."

    4. What if sexual intercourse isn't possible at some point? What can a couple do then?
    5. Does the Bible have anything to say about sex and pregnancy?

What do we wish we'd known when we first got married?

In this episode, the four wives chat about what they wish they'd understood earlier in their marriages and what they would like to advise wives now.

    • Sex is emotional, not just physical.
    • Assume love.
    • Pursue happiness for yourself.
    • Speak up.
    • Breastfeeding dampens sex drive.
    • Get along with your mother-in-law.
    • Your husband is a child of God just as you are.

    31-Listener Questions Apr 09, 2018
    Show notes

Again, we address listener questions. Specifically:

    1. I would love if you could discuss how to get OUT of the mood (for those of us with husbands who just aren't that interested). I also long to know what it's like to be a wife who is loved and desired by her husband. I've tried making peace with the fact that this may not be the plan for my life.
    2. How do I get past my husband's sexual past? How do I let it go and not let it interfere with our marriage bed?
    3. Is it medically bad for you to have anal sex with your spouse? And do you believe it is wrong for man and wife to engage in anal sex?

    • I am not enough.
    • Christian women should not be sexy.
