    Meet Di Kendall Sep 16, 2020

    Di believes that everyone should feel able to sew regardless of their background, ability and especially income. Di makes 99% of her clothes and quite a few for her husband, son and wider family.

    During the Covid crisis Di made 40 sets of scrubs for her local intensive care unit and then designed a face mask with a 'see through' visor to assist better communication with lip reading and enabling people seeing facial expressions. This community need brought together her passion for sewing and understanding the challenges faced by those with additional needs. Di's smile mask pattern and tutorial are free.

    Di has contributed to the Sewover50 community as a guest editor and she had written for sewing magazines including Threads magazine.

    Gabby Brown (or Dear Gabby) is the fit specialist in the Sewcialists team. When there's a fitting question from the sewing community, Gabby will research the question to provide various answers that we can refer to.

    Gabby is a technical fashion designer, fit specialist, and prolific googler. She lives in Denver, raises tiny littles, reads, embroiders, makes, experiments, fails, learns, tries again. See her on instagram @ladygrift.

    In this podcast Gabby is the industry expert you'd want to go to for sewing and fit advice as she discusses her tertiary training and industry expertise. More from Gabby next week.     #Memademay2020 reboot Sep 13, 2020

    The Australian Sewing Guild is about to launch #memademonday in October. This is a challenge to showcase what you've sewn while you've been in social isolation.

    Every year a similar challenge #memademay is fairly similar and runs everyday in May.

    The ASG October challenge on the 4 Mondays in October is your chance to showcase your sewing projects on instagram and on facebook. Make sure you note the pattern used, fabric used, any details about the project and use #memademonday and #australiansewingguild. You might enjoy this challenge and take us Memademay next year. Go on!
