Season Goals: Bennedict Mathurin Sep 08, 2023

Show notes

Bennedict Mathurin gave fans a lot to cheer for in his rookie season and there is a lot to be excited for with his upcoming sophomore year. Will the wing from Arizona take the next steps to solidify himself as Tyrese Haliburton's backcourt running mate for years to come, or will he hit that sophomore slump and have another up and down season?

While the season is just 7-weeks away, the guys list three goals they each have for Mathurin this season and what areas they think he can improve upon to become a pivotal piece for this franchise moving forward.

Also in this episode, the guys discuss the Setting The Pace Fantasy Football League, the potential of a Setting The Pace Fantasy Basketball League and potential prizes/opportunities for the champs!!!!!

Please do us a BIG FAVOR and leave us a 5-star rating and review if you have not! We are SUPER close to crossing 300-total ratings on APPLE and that would be an awesome achievement before the season starts!

With "success" being defined different each year for the past couple seasons, what does a "successful" season look like for you both this year? (Mailbag Pt. 2) Sep 06, 2023

Show notes

On today's mailbag podcast, Alex and Facci answer questions about Andrew Nembhard's future, what would define a successful season, Top 5 Pacers we would want to see in a Ring of Honor and whether or not Jarace Walker can expand his game into playing as a wing and not just a big.

Chase Hoops

Do you think that Nembhard will be on the team past his rookie deal, or will he want a larger role and go to another team?

D.J. Davis

Wouldn't Buddy be 6th man of the year, if he was the 1st off the bench, as he would be like Pistons Vinnie Johnson? Think Buddy will stay with the Pacers this year and after since he and Hali's are so close?

Rebooted Drew

Any room for Hollis-Jefferson on the roster (or rotation for that matter)?

Tyler Schmitt

With "success" being defined different each year for the past couple, what does a "successful" season look like for you both this year? Player development regardless of record? Playoff berth? Both? Anything else also welcome

Lee Plenty

Can Jarace Walker develop into a SF?

Jon Beyer

Love the "Ring of Honor" idea. Who are your top 5 choices if the team were to do it?

I'd start with these 5 but love to hear your ideas

If you could add one non all-star player to this year's roster, who would it be? (Mailbag Pt., 1) Sep 05, 2023

Show notes

Alex and Facci are back from a long Labor Day weekend! Today they answer 6-questions from the Mailbag podcast, and you can view those questions below. The guys had a total of 18-questions so there will be 2 more episodes dropping this week if you don't see your question on this one.

NBA Woody

Any concerns that the Obi Toppin & Jarace Walker pairing will end up being a similar situation to NYK where Randle was really good & it killed Obi's development? Or is there a world where the two of them are effective on the court together in big minutes.

Rooster

If you could add one restaurant/food option to Gainbridge what would it be?

If you could add one non all star player to this years roster who would it be?

How many seasons will it take for Tyrese Haliburton to earn his spot on the Mt. Rushmore of Pacers and why is it this year?

Aaron M

So Mathurin is working out with Klay? What are some things you hope he takes from that experience?

Sammy Culbertson

I think Halliburton is a lot better than Jalen Brunson. From what l've seen on this USA team, it seems that Haliburton makes the offense flow way better and pushes the fast break. I feel like Brunson dribbles too much — your opinions?

With the additions of Obi and Bruce how does our offense change?

Reformed Reese

Could Isaiah Jackson beat out Myles turner for a starting center slot?
