Show notes

Alex Golden is joined by Es Baraheni of Forbes.com and Bleacher Report to look at all the interesting angles of the Pacers upcoming series against the Bucks. Es covers the Raptors daily, so his familiarity with Pascal Siakam and what he can bring to the table in a playoff series is key for a portion of this conversation. The guys discuss how McConnell can be utilized off the bench, pairing Toppin with Siakam and Turner in the front court and how Milwaukee may defend Tyrese.

VIEW OUR MERCHANDISE STORE -- SHIRTS, SWEATSHIRTS, TANKS, LONG SLEEVE, BASEBALL, KIDS + MORE

1). Adam

For the Pacers to win this series, who needs to be more vital and productive? Obi Toppin/Jalen Smith/TJ McConnell or someone else?? Thanks so much! Love the podcast and content

2). DJ Davis — loaded question lol

Who will defend Dame?

Who will defend Giannis?

How much scoring will Hali need?

Can Myles keep up his intensity and improve offense?

How can the Pacers keep their energy and intensity the whole series?

Thoughts on Beasley comments?

3). Josh

Do you think Myles will feed off of the Hawks game + ambitions to be back in playoffs and continue his hot streak?

Does Haliburton look to score first instead of pass? (Depending on how the supporting cast of pacers are performing) I think if Myles + Siakam keep it up we good.

4). Ry

What will Giannis average FT attempts be? How do the Pacers fight through this incredible glaring bias against them? Why does Ty seem afraid to shoot the ball all of the sudden?

5). DeJaun Foster

I love Nesmith’s game! Is it possible a strong playoff showing can further raise his ceiling and role as a player or is his role pretty much cemented going forward?

6). David Cole

Who do you think are the X-Factors for the series and what is the most important 1-on-1 matchup you’re watching?

Also, what do you think goes right/wrong if the Bucks win/lose this series? Same for the Pacers.

7). Abeas1

During the season, Ty had very prolifc scoring games vs. the Bucks. With his recent lull in scoring, do you think that this could hamper the Pacers' potential to win the series? Will this also open up more opportunities for minutes for TJ bc of his recent boost in scoring numbers? Same question for Nembhard.

Playoff Mailbag Pt. 1 Apr 16, 2024

Show notes

Alex and Facci answer your questions about the Pacers upcoming playoff series with the Milwaukee Bucks.

VIEW OUR MERCHANDISE STORE -- SHIRTS, SWEATSHIRTS, TANKS, LONG SLEEVE, BASEBALL, KIDS + MORE

1). Christopher Lloyd

Pacers have had the deepest bench in the league, but typically for the playoffs coaches shorten it to 9 or even 8 guys who play. How deep do you think Carlisle will go in the playoffs, and who gets left on the bench?

2). David Matillo

Does Tyrese need to average 25 points for Pacers to win?

3). Chuck & Jamie

5 major things have changed since we last played the Bucks:

1. No Benn Mathurin to punch back vs the Bucks’ physicality

2. Tyrese’s regression since injury

3. No Buddy Hield

4. Addition of Siakam

5. Nesmith regression from injury

Which will have the most significant impact?

4). Q

With our defense improving every month since the last time we played them do you think this will be a series where Rick will have a better defensive plan for Giannis or do you think it will be like earlier this year where we just have to get timely stops and hope to outscore them

5). Chase Sasin

2 questions:

1. TJ has been unplayable in previous playoff series due to his inability to shoot from three. Is this something we should be concerned about, especially with him being the reason our bench is so successful?

2. Do you think we’re better equipped to defend giannis?

6). Aman Bakshi

We have experience with Bucks all season, but Doc is adding a wildcard with his Playoff tenure - what do you think we need to do to leverage our experience (or lack of) in the playoff to cover the Bucks successfully.

7). Schwarz Bruder & Carson Stafford

Seeing as how our gameplan is to run a lot, do you think Carlisle keeps up using a full 10 man rotation and just cuts back on minutes?

8). Dalton Chubb

Since we're back in the playoffs what's your guys favorite playoff memory? Mine Is Hibberts block on Melo, or Reggie banking in that 3 against the nets!
