Pick one offseason move you'd like for the Pacers + PFs we're interested in adding this summer! (Mailbag Pt. 4) May 04, 2023
    Show notes

Alex and Facci are once again joined by Derek Kramer from iPacers.com to answer your Mailbag Questions!

    1). Rooster

-What percentage do you think there is that the following players are on the roster at the END of next season?

Myles, Jalen, I Jax, Buddy + Duarte

    2). Adjafre (Instagram)

-Do you think the Clippers could rebuild after this bad post season (even though it was mostly due to injuries)?

-Would that make PG available? And do you think he's the right (and maybe available) super star we need?

-Also, who do you think are the best PFs the pacers could pursue besides OG, PJ Washington and the ones the pacers have already shown interest?

    3). Festar35 (Instagram)

-Do you see a scenario where Carlisle starts Haliburton, Nembhard + Mathurin together? I know it'd be a smaller lineup, but I think replacing Hield with Mathurin and a new PF would likely make us better defensively.

    4). Lotty Dotty (Instagram)

It's my first mailbag in months so you guys can pick whichever question you want to answer

    - Can you guys play GM and give us some of the moves you would make over the summer and what your team is going to look like opening night?

    - This question is for Facci, If the Pacers were in game 7 in the finals and you got a free Ticket front row and I'll even sweeten the deal with locker room access... would you still attend the game with the Facci curse active?

Should the Pacers draft Scoot if they have the chance to? What trades could the Pacers make with their later picks + a player? (Mailbag Pt. 3) May 03, 2023

Alex and Facci are joined by Derek Kramer aka iPacersBlog to answer your Mailbag Questions!

    1). Peetie Peete

Say the Pacers luck up and get the 3rd pick in the draft and Wemby and Miller are off the board. Are you drafting for need or taking the best available?

    2). Indy Pacer (3 for 1 special)

-Would you trade for PG? It's a bit risky looking the recent availablity he's had.

-Would you start Nembhard next season or let him be the primary bench point guard?

-Do you feel it's time to make an all in move this season or wait until next season?

    3). Basketball John

Do you think Rick should have given more minutes to Benn? He would have easily scored 20 per game if he played in garbage time. Or do you think Rick was really trying to make him earn the minutes the old fashioned way?

    4). D.J. Davis

Which players on the current roster do you predict may be traded along with draft picks 26, 29 & possibly 32, and for which other teams player i.e. OG Anunoby or Pascal Siakam and why?

It's Mail Time!! Should the Pacers include Bennedict Mathurin in a trade to move up into the Top 3 of this years draft? (April Mailbag Pt. 1) Apr 25, 2023
    Show notes

Alex and Facci are here for Part 1 of the April Mailbag and they have a lot to discuss!

    Questions:

1). Sam Culbertson - What’s your expectations for next years roster same place we were this year or will we be good enough for the playoffs what’s your guy’s opinion?!

2). Ricky Kelley - Do you think there is a chance for mathurin to become an allstar next year? What steps would need to happen for his development for the pacers to have 2 allstar nominations knowing tyrese is going to tyrese?

3). Matt Peck - Do you believe Rick Carlisle has a specific preferred style or do you believe he can cater his team plan to the players he has available to him? With that in mind do you believe he will still be the coach when the team turns the corner?

4). Aaron M - What would you do if the Pacers landed the #1 pick in the draft? Do you plan to do a live draft lottery reaction again?

5). Jon Beyer - Everyone talks about who they want in the draft and free agency. Who are some guys you absolutely DO NOT want the Pacers to draft or go after this summer

6). Jonas Salk III - Is Mathurin a potential trade chip to move into the top 3 if we are lottery losers? I believe he should be especially if that means getting Brandon Miller.

Deep Dive: Who really won the Malcolm Brogdon for Aaron Nesmith trade? Apr 25, 2023
    Show notes

Alex and Facci are ready to deep dive into last off-seasons trade that sent Malcolm Brogdon to the Celtics for Aaron Nesmith, Daniel Theis, Nik Stauskas, Malik Fitz and Juwan Morgan as well as the Celtics 2023 First Round Pick.

1). What did you think Brogdon’s value was before the trade took place?

2). Before we get into value of the trade, let’s layout what the trade allowed the Pacers to do.

3). What was your gut reaction to the trade in the moment?

4). Could Haliburton and Brogdon have worked together?

5). Does Buddy Hield still play for the Pacers this last season if Brogdon is on the team to start the season?

6). Was Aaron Nesmith/Daniel Theis good enough this season to feel like it’s a win-win trade?

7). Could the Pacers have held out longer and got better value in the offseason before making a Brogdon trade?

8). Could the Pacers have gotten a better package for Brogdon had they waited to trade him closer to the deadline?

9). Does Pritchard’s comments about not knowing if Nesmith is a starter or bench player make you feel like they settled for the Brogdon trade?

10). At the end of the day, was this a win-win trade like many have claimed it to be? + GRADE THE TRADE

Pacers Group Chat: Pros & cons to trading for OG Anunoby, fringe starters to trade for, evaluating the secondary players on the team + A Toy Story Draft (Pt. 2) Apr 21, 2023
    Show notes

Alex Golden is once again joined by Carson Stafford and David Cole to discuss the Pacers offseason potential! First, the guys look at players the Pacers could potentially target in a trade this offseason that would give them similar value as Aaron Nesmith did this season. This is based off of former role with team that traded them, salary and how they'd fit in role wise here with the Pacers.

Next, the guys discuss why the Pacers ALL-IN move this season has to be OG Anunoby (if he is available). What is the asking price for OG? What do the Pacers have to realistically give up to acquire him? Are there any Pacers outside of Haliburton who are untouchable in an OG trade and why Alex thinks there is more upside to trading for him than he previously had thought.

After that, Alex gives the guys 6 Pacers players who aren't in the Core 4 of Haliburton, Mathurin, Turner and Nembhard and has the guys decide which two they would keep. After the guys reveal their answers, Alex goes on a rant about comments made from Chad Buchanan on JMV this week.

Finally, the guys have some fun and draft a starting 5 (with a 6th man) of Toy Story characters (toys only). How would these toys fair in a basketball game and what qualities about each toy makes them pivotal to each person's team.

Pacers Group Chat: What draft picks make the most sense for the Pacers and potential free agent targets! (Pt. 1) Apr 21, 2023
    Show notes

Alex Golden is joined by David Cole and the Birthday Boy, Carson Stafford. The guys kick off the show discussing players they like for the Pacers in the 4-6 range of the NBA Draft. After that, they then look at prospects who they'd have interest in in the 7-10 range of the NBA Draft. To tie up the loose ends on the draft talk, the guys discuss players they like from the 25-35 range for the Pacers.

Next, the guys look at free agents in the $5M - $10M range that could be semi-impactful for the Pacers next season. Then the guys close out the free agency talk looking at names the Pacers could spend heavily on in Free Agency that would be starters on this team. The price range for those starters were in the $15M - $20M range.
