Find a quiet space free from distractions and focus on your breathing, inviting the presence of God, centering your hearts to hear God's word.
Reflection Prompts:
What areas of your life do you need to ask for forgiveness and need repentance?
Are there ways in which you have fallen short of God's commands?
Are there injustices you need to address or opportunities to extend compassion to others?

EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE
1. I am the Lord your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me.• Have I treated people, or things as more important than God?• Do I give God time every day in prayer?• Do I seek to love Him with my whole heart?• Are there other "gods" in my life? Money, security, power, people, etc.?2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.• Have my words, actively or passively, put down God, theChurch, or people?3. Remember to keep holy the Lord’s Day.• Have I missed Mass on Sundays or Holy Days of Obligation?• Do I look for ways to spend time with family on Sunday?4. Honor your father and your mother.• Do I show my parents due respect?• Do I seek to maintain good communication with my parents where possible?5. You shall not kill.• Have I harmed another through physical, verbal, or emotional means, including gossip or manipulation of any kind?6. You shall not commit adultery.• Have I respected the physical and sexual dignity of others and of myself?• Have I been faithful to my marriage vows in thought andaction?7. You shall not steal.• Have I taken or wasted time or resources that belonged to another?• Have I stolen what is not mine?• Do I waste time at work, school, and home?8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.• Have I gossiped, told lies, or embellished stories at the expense of another?• Do I speak badly of others behind their back?9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s spouse.• Have I honored my spouse with my full affection and exclusive love?10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.• Am I content with my own means and needs, or do I compare myself to others unnecessarily?• Am I jealous of what other people have?
