3 IN, 3 OUT: What if...? v. Jaguars - Helping us find the truth Oct 30, 2021

Show notes

With the Seahawks playing the Jaguars, it takes us back to a time within the multiverse that JAG was one of the biggest shows on television. What do JAGs do? They get to the truth (even if some people think we can't handle it). It's tell the truth Saturday ahead of this Sunday's game in Seattle and sometimes the truth hurts. However, there are some positives to consider. What if the Seahawks defense has found its way in stopping the opponents on the ground? Where can they focus next? Jacksonville has been turning over the football a lot this season, which could give Seattle an opportunity to play more aggressive. Will they take it, or will they continue to show a lack of faith in Geno Smith even against one of the league's worst defenses by DVOA?

Out to a 2-5 start with the Seahawks, Pete Carroll reflects on his first year at USC Oct 28, 2021

Show notes

Admittedly, Pete Carroll has found himself in a position he hasn't been in for a long time. With a 2-5 record heading into Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he talks about needing to pull from some of his experience at USC and some of the issues that he struggled with there at the time. Carroll says the Seahawks should have some key players returning this week and is happy with the cornerback play of rookie Tre Brown. He also praised Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and their starting running back heading into Sunday's game versus Jacksonville.

3 IN, 3 OUT: Getting slapped with cold fish Oct 27, 2021

Show notes

The graphics team for Monday Night's game between the Saints and Seahawks was right on point when they showed Pete Carroll getting smacked with a barrage of cold fish. That's what it's feeling like to be a Seahawks fan with Russell Wilson out these past couple weeks. Getting into the nooks and crannies of this game, we talk about DK Metcalf doing what needed to be done to get the Seahawks off the 1-yard line, the play up front on the defensive line and some of the more infuriating micro moments from the Week 7 loss to the Saints.

RECAP: Seahawks vs Saints - notes, quotes, and the importance of Russ Oct 27, 2021

Show notes

The Seahawks are now 0-3 at home to start the season following a 13-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Seahawks defense managed to shut down the Saints run game, but they weren't able to stop Alvin Kamara who led the team with 128 receiving yards. The Seahawks got out to an early lead thanks to a DK Metcalf 84-yard touchdown, but the offense didn't do much after that. After the game Pete Carroll referenced the missed field goals, Geno Smith talked about the inability to capitalize off a timely turnover, and Ugo Amadi and Jordyn Brooks talked about what the team needs to do next.

Pete Carroll on the Saints 'The challenge is really obvious' Oct 24, 2021

Show notes

Pete Carroll was candid in his assessment heading in this game when he finished one of his quotes by saying, "we need this one." At 2-4 and coming back for two home games before heading into the bye week, these next two games are critical for a team clinging to postseason expectations. Ken Norton Jr. took some of the blame for putting Carlos Dunlap in a bad spot against the Steelers, Bobby Wagner talked about matchup up with Alvin Kamara, and Geno Smith offered up a reason for the passes he had batted down in last week's game.

3 IN, 3 OUT: What if...? v. Saints - Alvin and the run game Oct 23, 2021

Show notes

We're rubbing together what we hope are two lucky Pennys ahead of this week's Monday Night Football game against the Saints. The first topic: What if the Seahawks are able to control Alvin Kamara in this game? What adjustment will the Saints attempt to make? In addition, some things that may be more likely to occur: What if our special teams is special this week? What happens if the Saints are successfully loading the box and shutting down the run? Can the Seahawks win this game if Jameis Winston actually protects the football and doesn't turn it over? We get into all these questions and more in this week's "What If" edition of 3 IN, 3 OUT.

Saints preview: A battle of the ground game on deck for MNF Oct 21, 2021

Show notes

The New Orleans Saints are coming off their bye week with a 3-2 record and bring with them a different look now that Drew Brees has retired. Considering Jameis Winston is leading New Orleans and Geno Smith behind center for Seattle, we can reasonably expect both teams to want to run the football. The Saints have the more dominant running back and they also have a corner who will likely try and shut down DK Metcalf. Former Saints wide receiver Terrance Copper of Bleav in Saints joins the show to talk about how Sean Payton's offensive approach against Seattle and how the game could ultimately hinge on the play of special teams.

3 IN, 3 OUT: The Hawks didn't quit edition Oct 19, 2021

Show notes

Starting off these episodes with an OUT is becoming all too familiar. But, like with every episode, we bring some of the good and some of the bad - particularly when it is necessary to point toward the micro moments in this game that cost the team a victory. Even with their backup quarterback and backup running back, the Seahawks still had an opportunity to win the game in the end. Tune in to hear which side of the ledger the Seahawks cornerbacks landed on, if a soul crushing tackle had anything to do with it and the answer to the question about what point in the season would be the time to hit the panic button.
