10/17/22 Richard Booth on Why the OKC Bombing is Still Important Oct 20, 2022
    Show notes

Richard Booth joins Scott to discuss the Oklahoma City bombing. The two go back to the beginning and talk about what originally got them interested in the bombing and how they later joined up to create the largest online archive of relevant documents. They then dig into why this story remains important almost thirty years later. Scott plays a number of audio clips to help the listener understand why there is clearly more to the story than the official conclusion would have us believe. But they also talk about instances where other researchers have gone too far with their assertions. This interview is a good jumping-off point for those who want to start learning about the bombing.

10/14/22 Ted Galen Carpenter on the Danger of America’s Involvement in Ukraine Oct 16, 2022
    Show notes

Scott interviews author and Cato Institute senior fellow Ted Galen Carpenter about the dangerous situation in Ukraine. Carpenter has been paying close attention to the social psychology behind America’s response to Russia’s invasion. He talks with Scott about how dishonest journalism, partisanship and neo-McCarthyism have poisoned people’s ability to see the war for what it is and have made many Americans completely dismissive of the danger posed by war with Russia. Carpenter argues that broad outspoken opposition to American involvement in the war is vital.

10/7/22 Boltzmann Booty on the CIA Asset who Funded the OKC Bombing Oct 16, 2022
    Show notes

Scott interviews Boltzmann Booty, a writer who recently wrote an article about possible CIA ties to the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995. It’s well known that Timothy McVeigh and accomplice Terry Nichols used money stolen from a man named Roger Moore to help fund the bombing. Later on, some research suggested that the robbery of Roger Moore was fake — that Moore used the theft to help fund the attack while keeping his hands clean. In this interview, Booty lays out some of the evidence that may suggest Moore himself was working with the government, specifically the CIA.

    Discussed on the show:

    • “The CIA Asset That Funded The Oklahoma City Bombing” (Substack)
    • Oklahoma City Bombing Archive - Libertarian Institute
    • Oklahoma City by Andrew Gumbel and Roger G. Charles

They start out with a discussion of how the antiwar movement has evolved since the George W. Bush years before digging into the need for off-ramps in the conflict against Russia. 10/7/22 William Astore: There’s Something Rotten in the US Military Oct 11, 2022
    Show notes

Scott talks with William Astore about an article he penned recently in TomDispatch about the inner rot plaguing today’s U.S. military. Astore, who served as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force, has observed an existential flaw that threatens the military from within — lies are rewarded while truthtellers are punished. In this interview, he and Scott take a step back and examine how this sprawling government bureaucracy has hijacked the noble instinct to protect one's community and used it to wage unjust wars of choice.

10/10/22 Dave DeCamp on Today’s Russian Missile Barrage Oct 10, 2022
    Show notes

Scott sits down with Antiwar.com news editor Dave DeCamp to discuss the Russian air strikes that hit targets across Ukraine earlier today. The two give some context to the strikes by examining the series of events that may have led to this escalation — including the Ukrainian bombing of a vital Crimean bridge and the assignment of a new Russian general to run the air campaign in Ukraine. Both agree that this attack represents a new phase in the war and reflect on how earlier negotiations would have resulted in fewer losses for Ukraine in territory, resources and lives.

    Discussed on the show:

    • “The CIA Thought Putin Would Quickly Conquer Ukraine. Why Did They Get It So Wrong?” (The Intercept)
