What happens when everyday life collides with something that—according to everything we’ve been taught—shouldn’t exist? In this spine-tingling episode, we bring you three firsthand accounts from the misty forests of the Pacific Northwest, each told by witnesses who never sought the spotlight yet can never forget what they saw. These aren’t campfire yarns or shaky-cam curiosities.
Story One – “The Trail Cam”
A quiet suburban homeowner in Washington sets up a motion-triggered camera to catch whatever’s overturning his garbage cans at night. The footage he captures upends his sense of safety and pulls him into a months-long game of cat-and-mouse with a creature that seems to be studying him just as closely.
Story Two – “The Logging Road”

In this episode, I take you deep into the swamps of Fouke, Arkansas, where a local legend was born — the Fouke Monster. Long before the creature hit the silver screen, sightings and eerie encounters haunted this small town, with reports of a large, hairy, ape-like creature roaming the countryside and terrifying locals. But everything changed when filmmaker Charles B. Pierce showed up and turned these stories into The Legend of Boggy Creek, a low-budget film that would unexpectedly become a cult classic and help define cryptid pop culture.
The movie mixed documentary-style storytelling with reenactments, blurring the line between fact and fiction. As word spread, the Fouke Monster became nationally known, drawing curious visitors, researchers, and monster hunters to the area. While some locals embraced the attention and the tourist dollars, others were less thrilled. Many felt the film sensationalized their town, exploited their stories, and painted Fouke as a backwoods oddity.

Every so often, something hits the inbox that stops me in my tracks. This is one of those emails.In this episode, I’m sharing a message from a man named Marcus—someone who claims to be a former member of a secretive military unit tasked with cleaning up after encounters with cryptids, aliens, and other classified threats. Bigfoot. Dogman. UFOs. You name it—he says he’s seen it, and worse.
But the reason Marcus reached out? That’s where things get truly unsettling.According to him, his unit was deployed to deal with a terrifying incident involving feral people—a group deep in the wilderness responsible for a string of disappearances and brutal killings. He claims they weren’t just wild… they were organized. Dangerous. Predatory.
If you’ve listened to That Bigfoot Podcast, you’ll know Wayne and I have talked about feral people in the Appalachians before. And while it sounds like the stuff of horror movies, there are documented cases of strange disappearances and alleged human predators in remote areas. Marcus’s email adds a new layer to that disturbing possibility.
