Julio Rodriguez was a top-5 picks in most drafts, but he's currently a bad hitter on a bad offense playing on a bad ankle, meaning that he won't give you stolen bases. Is he perhaps a drop for 2024? Fred Zinkie and Jeff Erickson explore that question and hone in on some second-half trends.

00:00 - Fred Pod 08-27
00:45 - Fred: I heard you and Scott talking about Julio Rodriguez. Can Julio be a 1st round 2025 pick and someone who you should drop right now? Lousy hitter, lousy offense, no base stealing with his ankle.
06:00 - Could J-Rod get shut down?
09:00 - Walker Buehler drop?
09:30 - Map out ahead of time
12:00 - Any injury cut, like Robbie Ray
13:30 - Kyle Tucker sprinting!
14:30 - Pick up more hot hands? Maybe just better matchups.
16:50 - Don’t cut Luis Robert
23:45 - Sometimes using season-long stats is better. Bigger sample size. But sometimes it isn’t, because teams change during the season. Here are some second half team stats that listeners may find interesting. After all, if we are going to stream down the stretch, we need to know what each team looks like right now.
25:45 - Houston is 24th in runs scored. Cleveland is 20th Boston is 3rd.
30:45 - KC is 2nd.
35:40 - Diamondbacks lead MLB in runs scored
38:00 - The Rays are 29th in runs scored but first in steals!
40:00 - Tampa is first in ERA. Detroit is 6th. Oakland is 10th. Boston is 29th. Baltimore is 23rd.
44:15 - Meanwhile, not only as the Astros and Braves not scoring, but they are also have the bottom of the league in steals. After being among the leaders in first half steals, the Brewers are mid-pack in the second half. The Giants are the opposite – last in the first half but mid-pack in the second half.
