    Rockonteurs with Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt

    Rockonteurs is a podcast all about the real stories behind real music.

    Presented by Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp, who wrote and performed megahits like ‘Gold’ and ‘True’, and Guy Pratt, a bass player who shaped songs for the likes of Madonna and Pink Floyd, you’ll hear exclusive stories of life on the road, in the studio and what really happened behind the scenes from artists who wrote, performed and produced the some of the biggest classic rock and pop tracks of all time.

    Guests include Sir Bob Geldof, Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera, super-producer Trevor Horn, Chris Difford of Squeeze and their bandmate from A Saucerful of Secrets, Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason

    This week on Rockonteurs we chat with actor and musician Paddy Considine. Paddy has starred in some tremendous film and TV projects like Stoned, 24-Hour Party People, Hot Fuzz, and Tyrannosaur (which he wrote and directed) and, of course, most recently as King Viserys Targaryen in the epic House of the Dragon.

    But Paddy has always been a musician and his band Riding The Low (loved by Tim Burgess) comes highly recommended by Gary and Guy.

Thomas emerged as a successful artist in the 1980s with hits such as “Hyperactive” and “She Blinded Me with Science”. Chris has been described as “one of the UK’s most versatile guitarists”. As such he’s played with The Pretenders, Roxy Music, Elton John, Art Garfunkel, Ginger Baker and Paul McCartney. He also produced the very first Sex Pistols recordings. Today it’s Chris's chance to shine and tell the stories behind his life in music.     This week on Rockonteurs we meet the total tour de force that is Noddy Holder. Slade were one of the UK’s most successful bands of the 1970s with a string of unforgettable hits. In this episode he chats to Guy and Gary about those ‘crazee’ days that included driving a young Robert Plant around, his love of Little Richard, inventing part of the stage runway that all the major acts of today use and trying to avoid playing THE Christmas song to an audience of 65,000 at the Reading Festival in the middle of summer!
