106: BRUCE REITER/FOH Engineer/Five Finger Death Punch, Fear Factory, Megadeath Nov 04, 2018
    Show notes

Good 'ole fashioned heart mixing. Zen mixing. Mixing a band with your soul and some faders. That's what we have here today my friends, and our guest this week is a disciple of all of these schools of mixing.

For the last eight years Bruce Reiter has been mixing Front of House for the hard-hitting band, Five Finger Death Punch. With a deep knowledge base of both the analog side and the digital side, Bruce has honed his skills and reputation with such artists as Megadeath, Social Distortion, Static-X, Fear Factory, Limp Bizkit, Rancid, and Powerman 5000.

I caught-up with Bruce while he was enjoying a short break before his next tour with Five Finger Death Punch starts up again.

    Happy Columbus Day friends!

105: BRUCE DANZ/Monitor Engineer/Avenge Sevenfold. Marilyn Manson, Anthrax, Testament, Alice Cooper Nov 04, 2018
    Show notes

It's an honor to be celebrating my 105th episode this week with our guest, Monitor Engineer Bruce Danz.

For the last 25 years Bruce has mixed monitors for some of Rock's hardest hitting artists including Anthrax, Testament, Alice Cooper, Death Angel, and Buckcherry. He endured a sixteen-year run with Marilyn Manson while simultaneously mixing for Avenge Sevenfold, a gig that has lasted almost eighteen years.

But life for Danz wasn't always behind the desk. The Michigan native also spent his twenties as a successful touring bass player. Come hang with Bruce and I, as we dissect his career in the industry and how he's found a way to keep rockin' after all these years.

    Thanks for listening!

    Grace Under Pressure.

I think that is the best summation of Sarah Huyck's character that I can come up with after spending time with her during our interview.

Throughout her short career, Sarah has risen to every challenge thrown her way. Starting with her mentor's in college, to her real-world training in Denver, and finally on the mean streets of New York, Sarah's tenacity and confidence have not only kept her working, but have helped to push this young Lighting Designer in ways that she could never have imagined.

Check out her story and be inspired!
