    In this four-minute podcast, Fiona Gore of WHO shares some motivations behind the development of WASH systems strengthening. She also discusses the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS) report. The GLAAS is a UN-Water initiative implemented by WHO. GLAAS aims to provide policy- and decision-makers at all levels with a reliable, easily accessible and comprehensive analysis of WASH systems to make informed decisions for sanitation, drinking water and hygiene. Fiona Gore is an expert in public health, with a strong commitment to improving public health through improved data collection, analysis and reporting, as well as health issues related to water, sanitation, hygiene, malnutrition and children's health.     A central promise of Sustainable Development Goal 6 is to leave no one behind (LNOB) in terms of access to safely managed WASH services. As part of systems strengthening, particular attention must be paid to marginalized individuals and groups to understand what can be done to rectify exclusion and discrimination.
