Nani Exclusive | Liverpool fans should say ’thank you and good luck’ to TAA | Gyokeres would make MUFC better Mar 31, 2025
    Show notes

Former team mate Luis Nani joins Rio and Joel to discuss Man United’s current forwards, Ruben Amorim’s impact at the club and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract status at Liverpool.

After playing with Amorim for the Portugal side, he reveals what he was like and the specific impact he had on players who he gave the most freedom to. After United were linked with Viktor Gyokeres and Geovany Quenda, Nani gives us insights into both of those players and what they could bring to the Premier League.

Rio gets some interesting questions from the MUFC WhatsApp group to put to Nani including why he painted his toenails black and the table-tennis battles with Cristiano Ronaldo plus why Patrice Evra tried to create beef between him and Antonio Valencia.

Rio suggests that the word loyalty in football should be removed because ‘it’s all gone’ when speaking about Alexander-Arnold and details why he feels the club is to blame for the way his contract has been handled.

Djed Spence Exclusive "I Want To Play For England" | Maddison One Of The Best | "Conte Never Happy" Mar 24, 2025
    Show notes

Tottenham full back Djed Spence joins Rio and Joel and delivers a fascinating insight into the role of a current full-back in the Premier League. He reveals why Antonio Conte was “never happy” at Spurs and the role team mate James Maddison has played in his recent run of impressive form plus his reaction to Maddison's back and forth with Manchester United legend Roy Keane.

Spence believes he suffered from being “too humble” after arriving at Spurs and details the struggles he went through on loan spells in France and at Leeds. There’s reflection on his time at Middlesbrough under Neil Warnock and what happened in the altercation with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola following a recent match.

Following intense scrutiny of Ange Postecoglu’s tactical principles, Spence reveals what the demands are for his players and why the players will never deviate from his strident philosophy.

He also discusses why he believes Kyle Walker is the Premier League’s best ever right-back and the two best players he’s played with and the importance of young players being able to show their personality and his reaction to Myles Lewis-Skelly’s Erling Haaland inspired celebration.
