It's the first Friday of the month, which means Confession Friday is in full effect — and this one delivered. The crew got into some embarrassing, unhinged, and oddly relatable confessions, and the phone lines went absolutely crazy. But before all that, Gary drops some celebrity news involving the son of an NBA legend that has everyone talking, a controversial media personality says something about relationships that has the whole crew shaking their heads, and a comedian takes a very public shot at the president on a major late-night platform. This hour has everything — laughs, prayer, and pure chaos.

Gary With The Tea is pouring this hour, and the cup runneth over. One of the most celebrated athletes in the world just clapped back at the internet in the most perfectly unbothered way — and Rickey has feelings about it. Then there's a certain Grammy-winning superstar who may have a new man, and he is not who you'd expect. The conversation gets surprisingly personal when Rickey explains exactly why you'll never see him out in public with someone he's dating. The Color of the Day is revealed, Super Dave catches some stray heat, and the crew cannot keep it together. Tune in.

Rickey Smiley and the crew kick off the morning right with a powerful prayer from Stellar Award-winning gospel artist Keylante Gavin. Then it's straight to the front page — the mysterious death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells in Mississippi has civil rights attorney Ben Crump demanding answers, ICE shoots and kills a Mexican citizen in Houston sparking an international standoff, and 350,000 Haitians lose their work authorization overnight. In sports, the Kawhi Leonard trade is on ice amid a $28 million scandal, and Coco Gauff's Wimbledon run comes to a heartbreaking end. Then Brat hits the Hot Spot with the latest on Mystikal — he's now locked inside Angola, the most feared prison in America. Plus, YG reveals the Secret Service came for him over his infamous anti-Trump anthem, and some venues are still banning him from performing it. You don't wanna miss a second of this one.

The Rickey Smiley Morning Show covered a wide range of headlines, from global conflict to celebrity controversy and political commentary. The crew discussed the U.S. military launching strikes against Iran after officials said Iranian forces targeted commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route that handles a significant portion of the world’s oil supply. Recent reports indicate the exchange has raised concerns about potential impacts on global markets and fuel prices. The show also highlighted the backlash facing Lil Wayne after fans in New Hampshire claimed the rapper took the stage more than two hours late following a separate concert cancellation in Maine earlier in the week, leaving many concertgoers frustrated despite his eventual performance.
In entertainment and culture news, Matthew Knowles pushed back against the long-standing belief that Beyoncé’s success made him wealthy, explaining that he and Tina Knowles had already built a successful business empire through their Houston-based hair salon ventures years before Destiny’s Child became a global phenomenon. The show also discussed comments from former talk show host Montel Williams, who said he believed former Vice President Kamala Harris was highly qualified for the presidency but felt the timing of her campaign and the political climate worked against her chances. Elsewhere, the crew shared updates on Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith reportedly living together again, celebrated Coco Gauff’s continued success at Wimbledon, and welcomed health expert Dr. MJ Collier, who offered advice on brain fog, mental health awareness, and healthy lifestyle habits during National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.
