On Today’s episode of Big Trouble in Little Vagina, I’m a little pissed off my Renegade nation, and I’ve got to get something off my more than ample chest today. So today… I’m talking about assumptions. That’s right boys and girls… we ALL make assumptions, hell, we do it all the time, and they can be about anyone or anything. And we think it’s so easy to know what’s going on in someone else’s head; or even understand why a person has taken a particular course of action. Truth is… we don’t really know. We make a guess based on our imagination, past experiences, wishful thinking or what we THINK we know about the person. And it’s really no big deal for us to arbitrarily decide why something happens, why someone does or says something, and so on and so forth. We don’t base our decisions on any observable evidence or even factual knowledge; nope, we just make the decision and believe it… like its fact and worse than that, we never change our minds about our assumptions.
So today, I’ve got a little ditty for you… and no, it’s not about Jack and Diane, instead, it’s about yours truly, Naughty Nicole and an experience I had recently. So as many of you know, I’m a single gal living here in Hotlanta, so you can assume that I date. Now, because of my hectic schedule at work and posting episodes for Renegade, it’s considerably less often than my mother would like, but I date. So recently, I had occasion to go out with a guy I’ve been talking to via email and social media – and for the purpose of this story, we’ll call him D**K. So D**k and I finally found time to meet up with one another and see if we have any chemistry in real life. Just a bit of background, D**k doesn’t know about my show – or if he does, he’s not aware it’s me – so he doesn’t have all the juicy tidbits I share with each of you, my lovelies.

On Today’s episode of The World In My Eyes it’s almost time for us to select a new President! Yay! And, quite honestly, I’m sick and tired of talking about the upcoming election, and I’m pretty sure if you haven’t decided who you’re going to be voting for, you’re going to be flipping that coin in the voting booth anyway. So there’s nothing more that we here at Renegade can share with you to help you make up your mind. So instead of focusing on the election, I thought we could take a look at another way we’ve lost control of our country. That’s right boys and girls; today’s topic is a look at how Americans have lost virtually ALL of their constitutional rights.
So… Just how many constitutional freedoms have we lost? Well that’s a loaded question my friend, one you really do NOT want the answer to. In fact, our most fundamental rights—to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness—are under assault. But the adversary is Big Wealth, not Big Government, as conservatives like to claim.

On Today’s episode of Big Trouble in Little Vagina, I’m still nursing this head cold from last week, and after spending so much time in bed I’ve had a great deal of time to reminisce and go all retro. And that’s sort of where my head is today, Retro. See, if you’re anything like me, you get sick and lay in bed looking for something to watch… or more to the point sleep to. And for the past few days I’ve been watching a lot – and I do mean a LOT of old movies. Seriously guys, it’s what happens when the batteries in the remote die and you don’t have any replacements handy. I mean, you can scavenge from other remotes and other devices, but in the bedroom, there’s only the handy toy in the bed-side table and that would be an absolute sacrilege to steal batteries from. I mean, I may be sick enough to not go to work, but I’m never THAT sick!
So today I want to talk about a film that doesn’t get enough credit – at least in my book – for changing the views of sex in society. But before we jump into the movie version, we have to look at the original theory for the film – I mean, sure, the film was risky, edgy and a phenomenon, but it had to start somewhere… Right? But, if you’re not a film buff like me, or maybe if you’ve been living in a cave for the past 50 or 60 years, then you may not have ever heard of a little book by the name of The Valley of the Dolls by one feisty, fiery and fierce author Jacqueline Susann. So let’s all huddle close and jump into the way-back machine and see how it all started.
At 3:30 A.M. on December 25, 1962, Jacqueline Susann—a fading TV actress with an unemployed husband, an autistic son in a mental hospital, and a lump in her right breast—began to scribble in a notebook. “This is a bad Christmas,” she wrote. “Irving has no job. . . . I am going to the hospital. . . . I don’t think I have [cancer]. I have too much to accomplish. I can’t die without leaving something—something big. . . . I’m Jackie—I have a dream. I think I can write. Let me live to make it!” And, that’s exactly what she did.

On Today’s episode of The World In My Eyes we’re exploring the most wondrous time of the year! That’s right boys and girls… today I’m going to share with you all the wonder and excitement of one of my favorite holidays! Straddling the line between fall and winter, or life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration… and superstition. Believed to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, where people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts, Halloween is one of the most celebrated and misunderstood holidays.
Halloween had its beginnings in an ancient, pre-Christian Celtic festival of the dead. The Celtic peoples, once found all over Europe, divided the year by four major holidays. According to their calendar, the year began on a day corresponding to November 1st on our present calendar and marked the beginning of winter. Since they were farmers and shepherds, it was a time when cattle and sheep had moved to closer pastures and been secured for the winter months. Crops were harvested and stored. The date marked both an ending and a beginning in the eternal cycle.
The festival observed at this time was called Samhain . It was the biggest and most significant holiday of the Celtic year. The Celts believed that at the time of Samhain, more so than any other time of the year, the ghosts of the dead were able to mingle with the living, because at Samhain the souls of those who had died during the year traveled into the otherworld. People gathered to sacrifice animals, fruits, and vegetables. They also lit bonfires in honor of the dead, to aid them on their journey, and to keep them away from the living. On that day all manner of beings were abroad: ghosts, fairies, and demons--all part of the dark and dread.
